Picture This: Gratitude: Spending a Year with Amazing People

1

What makes my year awesome are memories, and more importantly, the people who helped me build them.

For every passing year, I’ve always been thankful for the same reason—I’m thankful because I got to spend another awesome year with really amazing people. I will never get by on my own without my friends and my family. And I am pretty sure it’s the same for everyone else.

That said, I would like to introduce to everyone some of the people I’ve spent my year with.

These are the members of my family. We hardly have any pictures with the whole family in them but I do love taking candid pictures of them separately. They may not be the perfect family but they are the best for me.

These are my best friends from high school. We don’t see each other as often as before now but we always stick around for each other and we do hang out whenever we can!

These are my closest friends in college. We are all insanely weird hence we don’t have a problem getting along really well.

These are some great friends I seldom see in a year, but whenever we do meet we are always having the time of our lives.

This (though not really human) is my best friend who is also a brother to me. He helps me get by life, and helps me keep sane. I forget the feeling of being alone because he’s just there all the time, be it a bad or a good day.

Please help me if you can!

Transient Living: The Craft and the Craftsmen of Denver, Colorado

The people of a city, to me, speak volumes about its culture and sense of community. And that is why I sought out the people who make Denver that much more interesting after the initial period of settling down. My search lead to a few establishments that have contributed to making Denver what it is today. In the second story on Transient Living, I present to you two of such establishments: The Craftsman & Apprentice, and A Small Print Shop.

Lomography Fisheye No.2: Seven Years of Wonder

Exactly seven years ago, I bought this camera from Indonesia's local Lomography community. I remember having some savings in my bank account and just spending it all on this camera. At that time, I browsed the microsite for the Lomography Fisheye No.2 and immediately fell in love with it! Coincidentally, my friend who introduced me to Lomography just bought this same camera for his birthday. My life has changed ever since I had the Fisheye, my first lomographic camera.

With my Fed 3 loaded with black and white film and equipped with ultra sharp Industar 50/3.5 lens, I documented the parade of cyclists who went to the starting line after they registered. Take a look after the jump!

LomoAmigos: The Ting Tings Go Analogue!

The Ting Tings are a musical duo from Manchester who have more pop hits than you can shake a stick at. They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.
