Monochrome Landscapes by Lomographers That Will Make Ansel Adams Proud

6

It's never easy to capture the beauty of nature without colors, which is why the impressive works of Ansel Adams remain amazing and influential to this day. Today, we've put together a selection of snaps by our fellow lomographers, which we think the master landscape photographer will like. Read on to take a look and see if you agree!

At a time and age where we can capture and see our world in color or black and white, making a choice can be a challenge in itself. Even so, many of us still find inspiration in the monochrome worlds captured and immortalized by photographers like Ansel Adams, whose landscapes remain breath-taking and compelling today despite the absence of vibrant colors.

What makes a good landscape photograph, whether in monochrome or full color? Adams once said :

Both the grand and the intimate aspects of nature can be revealed in the expressive photograph. Both can stir enduring affirmations and discoveries, and can surely help the spectator in his search for identification with the vast world of natural beauty and wonder surrounding him.

With this in mind, we looked around for some photos taken by our fellow lomographers using various cameras and black and white films, and we’d like to think the ones below will make Ansel Adams proud:
