Twosday Tuesday: Birds in Flight Up Close

2

Here at Lomography, we always like looking at the creative and random photos submitted by our community members in our downtime. And, amusingly, we find that there are a lot of snapshots that bear a striking resemblance to one another – be it in the way they were composed or in idea – even though they were taken in different parts of the globe!

This week, we’re looking at a couple photos that are similar in terms of the setting (above water), as well as the subject and its positioning (close up shots of birds at the edges of the frame)! They were both shot using the *Lomo LC-A+*, too!

This photo was taken by *tiano* in New York with a Lomo LC-A+ loaded with the Lomography X-Pro Slide 100 (35mm) film.

On the other side of the globe, meanwhile, *orangebird* shot this photograph at Miyagi, Japan also using her Lomo LC-A+ RL loaded with the Solaris 400 FG Plus film.

Tune in next Tuesday for the next of twin photos! In the meantime, check out our Twosday Tuesday series in the Lomography magazine!

Now, how can you take your analogue light paintings from the ordinary to the outstanding? LomoAmigos: The Ting Tings Go Analogue!

The Ting Tings are a musical duo from Manchester who have more pop hits than you can shake a stick at. They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.

    Happenings on Film: Photographia Project

Last year I took part in Photographia, a project that encouraged the use of cameras from the volt of Museu da Imagem em Movimento (M|i|mo). The gear collection used to belong to a well-known Portuguese TV channel (RTP) and some professional photographers. The cameras hadn’t been used since they were donated to the museum—until the launch of Photographia.
