A Day in the Life of a Student: Last Look at the Campus Before the Break

I won’t be able to see my campus until another three weeks, so I decided to walk around for a few minutes to have a last look at some of the places I pass by everyday.

On my last day in school before the semestral break, I went for a quick walk to look at the buildings and objects that I wouldn’t see for another three weeks or so. Take a look at these places where I pass by everyday in school.

This is probably one of the most recognized buildings in the University of the Philippines – Diliman. I spent most of my time here when I was a freshman student because a lot of my classes were here, and I would meet up with my high school pals as well in the lobby. I found that even on days without classes, students would still come to this building.

This is a view from the back of the Administration building, the first building you’ll see when you enter the campus.

This is the path that I would take when I’m coming from my Journalism class to my Social Science class.

It’s where you can find the statue “Three Women Sewing the First Philippine Flag” crafted by one of the National Artists of the Philippines in Visual Arts, Napoleon Abueva (who is also known as the Father of Modern Philippine Sculpture).

And here’s my last look at the trees in the University. If you would look closely, some people are having a picnic of some sort.

I would never run out of things to photograph in my campus. So when I come back to school after the break, expect to see more photos from me!

My wife and I suffered a family loss in October 2013 so we decided to shift things around and have a celebration of life—a wedding, actually—to associate our loss with the beginning of something positive and memorable. We have been together for nearly 13 years and after getting married, we headed off on a three-month trip to South America and a few other stops to complete a round-the-world loop back to Australia.

    Solar Eclipses and Beyond

The skies were busy with magic today — or maybe it was just the solar eclipse that caused all that ruckus? Decked out in space-age goggles and other various sun viewing paraphernalia, groups of people gathered as the moon moved between the sun and the earth this morning across Europe. Only a few lucky folks witnessed the total eclipse, and here at Vienna HQ, the greatest moment of the partial eclipse happened at 10:45 A.M. and lasted only a few minutes. We stopped everything we were doing to join the sky watchers crew and share in this astonishing moment. Check out these brilliant solar-inspired shots to celebrate the occasion!

James Wright's So It Goes x Sri Lanka Photo Diary (Part II)

In December last year James Wright, editor and creative director of So It Goes Magazine, went on a two-week trip to Sri Lanka, "a place so long on our bucket list, but up until then, as yet unvisited," he writes on the first of his three-part photo diary. Herein is the second part of his series that chronicles his adventures, highlighted by a selection of breathtaking images of the Sri Lankan countryside and the locals, among many other images, captured with his trusty photographic companions: the Leica MP, Lomo LC-A+, and an assortment of films including the LomoChrome Purple.
