Yesterday after lunch with the family, I was able to catch by chance a full day “Harry Potter” movie marathon on cable TV featuring all films except “Prisoner of Azkaban.” I don’t know why that is, but it isn’t the point of the story, anyway.
Of course, I didn’t miss it. It was perfect. I thought it was an excellent way to cap the weekend/to start the new week – whichever way you choose to look at it. I don’t talk about it as much as I used to when the books and films were still coming out, but I’m still a huge fan, so forgive me if that previous sentiment sounded a little biased.
It isn’t that liking the series was able to transform my life drastically. You know, none of those extreme “Harry Potter changed my life” moments. But at the very least it’ll always be one of those things that make everything better for me. It never fails, whether I’m already feeling okay to begin with or I’m down and stressed out. Time and again, after seeing even just a small piece of news about it, I get happy enough to take on even the most stressful tasks.
Maybe that’s what childhood favorites really do to you. I don’t think I’ll be outgrowing it anytime soon, seeing as it’s been part of my life since I was in sixth grade. Put it this way: there’s “Harry Potter” on one side, and then on the other there’s the rest of the other interests that I have. It’s a constant and on a league of its own, I guess.
Anyway, let me end this post by sharing with you a few lovely “Harry Potter”-related shots I’ve stumbled upon that were taken by some of our community members!
