According to him, there are "more than 150 cameras scattered" in his home; always ready to be used and/or adored. Now, won't you like to visit this Lomographer's abode and take a look?

Well, if you are from Italy and if ever given a chance by this LomoGuru, why not right? After all, seeing a great camera collection is always an awesome experience! But for now, we have this interview with superlighter which is just as good as peeking into his great collection of cameras!

How long have you been collecting film gear and how did it start?

Well, I started my collection in 2007 while looking for a Polaroid Image and after a guy gave me a big box of Image film for free. I was looking around for this model and when I entered eBay for the first time, I signed-up and made my first bid. I was very lucky and I got my Pola Image for only 0.99 Euro! Obviously, this was only the first of a long long series!

I can spot an LC-Wide!

Can you possibly itemize every camera, film roll, and accessory you own?

Oh my, they are too much! Really, I have more than 150 cameras scattered in my home!

Have you used every camera in your collection or you just adore them from the camera shelf?

Yes! I’ve used almost every one once except for those that are broken.

What is your favourite camera? Film? Accessory? Why?

A very tough question. I used to say that my favourite is the Lomo LC-A and it is true but in some circumstances I prefer other cameras like the Canon EOS 300 (a very light SLR with all the options I need including the multiple exposure) coupled with different lenses. Lately my favourite combination is the EOS 300’s body and the Helios 44-2 lenses from Zenit. Another camera I like is the Taxona from Zeiss Ikon; a square format on 35mm, very compact and with a nice lens.

On film, I use mainly color film. I like cross-process of course but I’m really happy when I’m able to achieve cool results from a classic color 35mm film. I have loved the no longer produced Ferrania Solaris with warm and saturated colors, a paint-like feel, the hues of the Italian Masters of Art! I would like to manage photography well enough to loose myself in the black and white world! I said this because I think that b&w can’t tell lies.

As for accessories, my favourite is the Colorsplash Flash! However, I like to going light and I don’t like carrying heavy stuff so basically, pocketable cameras with a good quality are my favourites.

Do you think you’ll ever stop collecting? Why or why not?

I don’t know. At the moment I’ve (almost) stopped buying new cameras. You know, I would like to use all of them and it is a pain to see a lot of them collecting dust on the shelf. Not to mention the shortage of money in recent times.

Is there a camera you still don’t own and want to be part of your collection soon? What is this and why?

I wish to have a panoramic camera — the Horizon is my forbidden dream! I would buy a cheap Sprocket Rocket but as you know, it’s not the same thing. C’mon fellows! Buy me an Horizon for Halloween!

That sure was one camera collection everyone would love to have! Thank you for sharing your story to us, superlighter! ’Til the next Camera Collections!

A Salute to the Masters: The Girl with the Scarred Face (A Tribute to Juergen Teller)

This is a tribute to Juergen Teller, a great fashion photographer who continues to work with analogue cameras. In the 1990s he radically changed the way to make fashion photography. His models appear "soap and water", without heavy make-up, and his images seem taken like an amateur photographer. Between his nice works, there is a photos that I like so much, taken in Cuba and called "The Girl with the Broken Nose." Take a look after the jump!

A Salute to the Masters: Sports Through A Plastic Lens (A Tribute to David Burnett)

The great American photographer David Burnett is famous for his unusual photos of sports competitions. He uses a tilt-shift lens to create miniature fakes, or a simple Holga camera to shoot in black and white. To write this tribute, I used my Holga to take some pictures of amateur sport activities around my city. Take a look after the jump.
