The photo above was taken sometime in the ‘50s. Luisa Casati was described as “an eccentric Italian heiress, muse, and patroness of the arts in early 20th-century Europe.” She was born on January 23, 1881 to parents Alberto con Amman and Lucia Bressi, and has captivated artists and literary figures including Jean Cocteau and Robert de Montesquiou! She also has numerous portraits by different artists, most of which she had done “to commission her own immortality.” She was a muse to many artists, having been the subject of many novels and poems.
