My Minox GT-S Loves the Lomography CN100 Film!

I like to document the street life and the public events of my city. And of course, I need to use many film rolls to do this. The Lomography CN100 film pack is a great product for me: it's cheap and gives out good colors. Here you can see some photos taken in a rather difficult condition: light and shadows under a blue sky. Read on to find out more!

This series of photos was taken with my new Minox GT-S that I bought at the Lomography Online Store. The event featured here shows a medieval Festival in Como, known as the “Palio del Baradello Castle.” This feast remembers the visit of the German Emperor Frederick Barbarossa to Como in the 12th century.

On this occasion, the students from my city organized shows and games in front of the Imperial court. I chose to take these photos in color to better emphasize the costumes, flags and flag-wavers of the event.

Even in a difficult condition with both light and shadow on the ground, the film performs well due to its good exposure capability.

As you know, when the ground is shaded with a clear sky, blue becomes the dominant color. However, this film eliminates much of that effect. These photos were digitalized using a professional Fuji Frontier mini-lab scanner by my trusty photo shop in Como. Each photo has been filtered manually, compensating for the presence of dominant colors.

The automatic exposure of the Minox is very accurate. This camera allows you to overexpose by one stop in backlit situations. The film performs well in both sunny and cloudy conditions.

I love the neutral tones of this film. For me, the color range is just fantastic. See the painting above!

The CN100 is a cheap film of great quality! Lomo on!

The World According to Herr Willie: Olympiastadion Berlin

The 2015 UEFA Champions League Final will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on June 6. It is a place full of history and is also the only football stadium with a blue track course. Some say it is the most beautiful stadium in the world, and I totally agree with them. But then agai,n I might be biased because it is the home court of my favorite team, Hertha BSC Berlin—my blue-white bloodline.
