The elegant Audrey Hepburn may be playing hard to get, but Fred Astaire looks determined to get a photo of her!
The photo above is one of the promotional photos for the 1957 musical film Funny Face, which starred Fred Astaire as famous fashion photographer Dick Avery, Kay Thompson as fashion magazine publisher and editor Maggie Prescott, and Audrey Hepburn as bookshop clerk and amateur philosopher turned fashion model Jo Stockton.
Interestingly, Fred Astaire’s character was based on iconic fashion photographer Richard Avedon, who also designed the opening title sequence and acted as a consultant for the film. Meanwhile, Kay Thompson’s character was based on Diana Vreeland, fashion columnist for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.
Anyway, looks like Dick Avery finally managed to snap a photo of the classy Jo Stockton:

Anna Hollond got her fist camera on her 10th birthday, and she hasn't stopped carrying a camera ever since. About a year ago, she sought to document her memories for her journal but didn't want to do so digitally, and got her first Lomography camera. Next thing she knew, she had a trove of instant cameras, as well as a knack for instant photography.
From May 21 to 24, Somerset House will be hosting Photo London 2015, bringing together 72 of the most well respected galleries from all over globe. Valerio Spada went beyond his comfort zone and stepped right into the battlefield with his camera. He went to Naples, Italy, an area populated by the Camorra Mafia but also home to Annalisa Durante who, at the age of 14, was killed by a bullet aimed at a Camorra boss. What happened to her could've happened to any of the girls portrayed in the book Gommorah Girl. This work is about Annalisa. It's about all of the girls that, just like her, seem doomed to an unfair destiny - which, hopefully, may still change.
