It's a Yes with Djramsay and His LomoDiary

To some, he's that adorable deer receiving a snack -- captured in Fisheye, in warm and lovely analogue colours, that deer sure is familiar along with a man's username!

But in this month’s LomoDiary, we reveal something more about that LomoHome! We have got djramsay as he shares a momentous and life changing event that amazingly, Lomography was a part of!

Coming from United Kingdom, let hearts flutter as we read Daniel’s LomoDiary! Enjoy! :)

Name: Daniel Ramsay
Lomography Username: djramsay
Location: Southampton, United Kingdom
Number of years as a Lomographer: Two years
Number of years in the Community: One and a half years

Please tell us something about yourself. What are your interests? What do you do for a living?

I am interested in the usual films, books and photography. I collect first edition books both rare and commercial along with around 20 film cameras. I’ve also started collecting rare vinyls.

I work for Skandia here in Southampton; we are the UK investment platform and product provider of Old Mutual Wealth.

Kindly relate to us any memorable experience; whether happy or sad, you’ve had in relation to Lomography.

The biggest memorable Lomography experience would be the night I got engaged! We went to Aruba for a holiday and after failing to find the “perfect moment” to ask throughout the day, I decided to wait until after dinner. We went for a walk along the beach to look at the stars and I dropped down on one knee to propose — Caroline said yes and kissed me, I had my La Sardina in my hand and captured the moment!

What are your best emotions on this?

Love, terror, excitement, and joy all at the same time!

Daniel’s muse! <3

If ever this experience did not happen, will your life (or yourself) be the same as before? Why?

Well, my life changed when we met and it changes for the better every day.

Any future plans you have that you will let Lomography play a part

We are going to get married in Italy on an island on Lake Orta and I will be handing out several of my cameras to the guests – I just need to figure out which ones.

Please share a song or a movie that has made an impact in your personal life.

Star Wars, my first film to see in a cinema.

The Hangover 2, my first date with Caroline

Let us see Daniel’s Lomo life in this gallery he personally shared with us!

I just love this, taken with my LC-A+ Russia Day in Cornwall last year.

L-CA+ Russia day! No idea how I managed this but I wish you still made Lomography X Tungsten 35mm film.

Caroline saying yes. :)

And now we’re just too excited for their wedding! Can’t wait to see those just-tied-the-knot-Lomographs! Congratulations, Daniel and Caroline!

Got a story to share? How important is Lomography in your life? Your story might just be perfect for our LomoDiary so head on and give me a line at!

A Salute to the Masters: The Girl with the Scarred Face (A Tribute to Juergen Teller)

This is a tribute to Juergen Teller, a great fashion photographer who continues to work with analogue cameras. In the 1990s he radically changed the way to make fashion photography. His models appear "soap and water", without heavy make-up, and his images seem taken like an amateur photographer. Between his nice works, there is a photos that I like so much, taken in Cuba and called "The Girl with the Broken Nose." Take a look after the jump!
