She is very happy to have come across with this Community of ours! An experience that teaches her step by step, slowly but surely. And it doesn't hurt that she has beautiful Lomographs to accompany it!
Coming from the beautiful country of Peru, Claudia knew from one look that she wanted to pursue Lomography. Like a calling or an itch you can’t resist! Well she did find herself here and we’re glad to make her this week’s newcomer! Read more of our interview with her below.

Current film cameras: Lomography La Sardina, Kiev 88
Please tell us a little something about yourself.
I am a graphic designer who’s back in having classes which made me meet the awesome world of film. I enjoy the little things in life like a good book, a good cup of coffee, a good movie, or just riding around in my bike. And now of course, my “La Sardina“ always joins me.
How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?
I read about Lomography on a magazine some time ago. I remember they had just opened the Lomography Embassy Store in Lima and made a whole article about it. I saved the article because I knew it was something I wanted to do someday. And this year I finally got my first Lomo camera for my birthday (of course it was the best present ever!) and that’s how I finally started doing this. I am loving every minute of it!
As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?
All of them! Especially the first one in which I take my camera everywhere I go. I would hate to see something worth photographing and not find my camera in my bag
In this digital age, why still film?
I love the thrill it gives me when I finish a roll of film and have no idea how the photos have turned out. I am fairly new to this so I am learning the differences between slides and negatives, colors, exposures, etc etc. So I just love not knowing what will come out (unlike digital photo when you know at the second and can take your photo over and over 100 times until it turns out the way you like it.) And I also just got a Kiev 88 as a present! It’s a whole new format which I can’t wait to start experimenting with.
Any song or movie you live by? Please share.
The movie Closer. I don’t know why it is the only movie I can watch over and over…
What are you looking forward to in our Community?
Learning! I never get tired of browsing Tipsters and photos of other members. I wish to do film swaps someday and getting to meet new people.
Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?
The Lomo LC-A seems like one of the favorite from Community members and I’ve seen what it can do. I will probably ask Santa to get me one for Christmas.
What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?
Your favorite section or page in our Lomography site?
The Photos section, I don’t get tired of browsing by location, by film, by camera, etc. That way I know more or less what films I want to try! (I just ordered my first Velvias and I can’t wait to try them!)
Share your current favorite Lomograph (could be yours or a friend’s) and explain why it is your favorite.
I love this one!
It was probably my first double exposure shot and I love how it came out with the silhouette on the right. Plus the dots on the door right on the camera gives it a Sprocket feeling… Doesn’t it?
