Hi! My name is hodachrome. I’m a photographer and designer. My main shooting themes are beautiful Japanese scenery throughout the 4 seasons and making unique works using multiple exposures.
How did you find your Konstruktor experience?
The waist level finder takes a bit of getting used to and I found it a little difficult using the focus control at the start. But once you get used to it, this unique shoot style is so fun!
What do you like best about the Konstruktor?
When looking at results from the Konstruktor, I was surprised by the sharpness, high contrast and powerful vignette effect. The Konstruktor uses 35mm film, has a 50mm angle of view and 0.5m minimal focus distance. I have not used this kind of camera in my career, so its specifications were new to me and became my favorite aspect of it. I think you should use Konstruktor in many different environments because it will give great results all the time. Since the Konstruktor gives a nice bokeh effect, my top recommendation is using it for portrait photography.
Share a funny or strange story while using/building your Konstruktor camera.
When I was taking the upper and lower symmetry photograph, because of its waist level viewfinder, I almost hurt my neck. Maybe people thought I was taking a photo of sky with my most effort!
Any tips for future Konstruktor users?
With the Konstruktor, you can take multiple exposures, so I recommend you try it and make the most of its wide focus distance. Flaming and control of focus are not so easy but you’ll be able to get used to it as I could. So just SHOOT SHOOT SHOOT and enjoy this unique and super original camera :)
