JULY 2013 – SUMMER SCHOOL WORKSHOPS

Saturday July 6th: Konstruktor SLR Build-a-thon Realness & Lomowalk

Konstruktor SLR Realness Workshop: Got the new Konstruktor Camera and want to learn how to use it? Want the Konstruktor and want to learn how to build it? Then is day is for you! Come in to LGS Toronto @ 1pm to get your very own Konstruktor camera (and get a free pack of film!) and build it together with likeminded Lomographers! Then @ 3:30pm we will begin a special workshop that will introduce you to SLR photography. This workshop will include a practical session shooting portraits and still life with the Konstruktor. After we turn you into a Konstuktor SLR guru we will venture out for one of our famous Lomowalks to the nearest construction site for your opportunity to capture some interesting expert shots!

Sunday July 7th @ 1pm – 3:00pm: Introduction Class – What the Hell is Lomography?

Introduction Class: you are totally inexperienced with analogue photography and want to know everything about Lomography, this class is made for you. Especially dedicated to beginners, we will initiate you to the world of Lomography and its 10 Golden Rules! What is ‘vignetting’ and what does and what does it mean to ‘cross-process’ a film? What’s the difference between a ‘pinhole’ and a ‘panoramic’ camera? The lingo of everyday lomographic life won’t have any secrets for you anymore.

Saturday July 13th @ 1:00pm – 3:00pm: Kensington Market Meet-Up & Lomowalk

Kensington Market Meet-Up & Lomowalk: This special workshop will feature the wonderful La Sardina camera. This easy to use 35mm snap shooter will be the perfect tool to capture the excitement of the market. Also, our expert staff will guide us through the market to ensure we discover everything that makes Kensington Market the unique place in the heart of Toronto.

Sunday July 14th @ 1pm – 2pm: Intermediate Class & All the Tips and Tricks

Intermediate Class: Learn a bit more about photography basics and techniques: how to select the right exposure, shutter speed, and learn more about our different films and how to select them in function of their colors and ISO. This class will teach you how to create multiple and long exposures, panoramas and everything you need to know to maximize the use of your camera.

Saturday July 20th @ 1:30pm – 3:30pm: Queen West Scavenger Hunt!

Queen West Scavenger Hunt: Grab a few friends and get your scavenger hunt team together! We’ll be hosting an outrageous scavenger hunt that will have you scouring the city and photographing all that Toronto has to offer. Analogue themed team names are encouraged as well as silly costumes! Each team will receive a camera and some film to capture each clue from our scavenger hunt list on film. You’ll be competing for bragging rights and some analogue prizes!

Sunday July 21st @ 1pm – 3:30pm: LomoKino Workshop

LomoKino Workshop: Discover our first analogue movie camera and all the creative possibilities it offers! This special camera gives you the chance to return to the roots of movie-making and witness the very first steps of moving Lomography. Put yourself in the director’s chair and learn how to make your own 35mm analogue movie masterpieces! (The workshop includes a short presentation, lend of a Lomokino camera and two rolls of film).

  • Cost for this workshop is: $15.00

Saturday July 27th @ 1pm – 3pm: Expert Class & Scanning

Expert Class: Now that you know everything about analogue techniques and how to use our cameras, it’s time to take the next step and learn how to maximize complete control with your photography. We will show you introduce you to our newest product the Lomography Smart Phone Film Scanner and introduce you to the basics of scanning, terminology, tips and tricks with our app and explain how it all works. Space is limited so please register early! * Must come with a developed roll of negative film.
