July Workshops and Events at Lomography Gallery Store Berlin

Summer is finally here, and to celebrate, we're bringing you the Summer School of Lomography! Over the course of four consecutive classes, we’ll show you everything you need to know to rock out with your… film out! And if that weren’t enough, you can join us in August for a graduation party and group exhibition, where all Summer School students have the chance to display their best photos from the class. All classes can be booked individually, but if you book all four in advance, you pay only 50€ instead of 70€ for the complete program!

William Helburn's Sexy and Glamorous Ads from the 1950s-1960s

William Helburn was one of the greatest ad photographers never quite known. His name remained anonymous behind famous ads for Coca-Cola, Buick, Revlon and Max Factor. He brought out the plush side of Kodachrome and surprised the American public with sexy humor. The credit is long overdue, but a recent book pays tribute to Helburn's vibrant career.

Doug DuBois on My Last Day at Seventeen

Doug DuBois spent five summers photographing the small neighborhood of Russell Heights in Ireland to capture the essence of coming of age: the inevitable loss of youth and the imminent transition into adulthood. Those four years resulted in his latest book, My Last Day At Seventeen. The book is a visual tale told through a collection of photographs and gives an alternative perspective through a comic narrative around the same subject. This creative combination of two distinct narratives in one book not only works wonderfully in visual terms; it also serves as an essential tool that lets the reader dig deeper into the story being told, making one go back to the book over and over again, yet from a new perspective, every single time.

    Bite-Size Fiction: The Memory Pill

Someday, getting rid of unwanted memories will be as easy as popping a pill and waiting a few hours for the desired effect to kick in. Literally a bitter pill to swallow (you'd think that with all the advancements in science then, they would've already made, say, fruit-flavored ones like the vitamins you loved as a kid), sure, but effective nonetheless.

    Tipster: DIY X-Pro Redscale

Browsing through the Lomography website, you can find a lot of redscale shots, which are all done on color negative films. I asked myself if it’s possible to redscale a slide or chrome film and then cross process it. (And yes, it is.) In this tipster I’m going to teach you how to create the bloodiest homemade redscale film I've ever come across.

Lomography Singapore and Parallel Planets Present: 'Façades: Neo-Noir Portraits Exhibition'

Lomography Singapore plays host to Parallel Planets’ first exhibition, "Façades: Neo-Noir Portraits Exhibition," featuring all-analog photography: a sea of black and white film portraits. This exhibition serves as a platform where both local and international photographers can express themselves by injecting individual perspectives into their craft. It also encourages viewers to look through the lens of the photographers, to see the subjects as who they are – flawed, alive, and breathing – and to also see beyond the façades we all choose to don.
