Brighten your Rangefinder with Tape!

Rangefinders are one of the best cameras to accompany you while shooting in the streets. However, for those with less than stellar eyesight, the brightness inside your rangefinder can be quite a drag. Here's a way to remedy that!

While you may think you have the perfect eyesight, one look inside a dim rangefinder can spell all kinds of trouble for you. You’re already squinting like crazy, but you still don’t know whether your photo is in focus or not.

The solution here is so simple, it’s genius!

Materials you’ll need:

  • Black tape – gaffer tape is preferred but you can do with electrical
  • Scissors or a cutter

A rangefinder has a primary view and a secondary view. The way it works is that you have to align the two together to make your image in focus. So to brighten up your rangefinder, all you need to do is to look at your rangefinder and measure or gauge the size of the tape you’ll need, and stick it on the middle of the primary view like in the photo.

What was once a dim image becomes much more clear, and much easier to focus! Do let us know if this works out for you!
