California Highway 126 connects Santa Clarita, CA to Ventura, CA with a beautiful drive through hills, ranches, and small towns.
I have driven along Hwy 126 quite a few times, but it took me a while to realize what a great place it would be to take photos. As you drive west from Santa Clarita you are taken into a world of hills, trees, and large ranch farms. You pass multiple produce stands offering large varieties of fresh and local fruits and vegetables. You eventually make your way through a few small towns and approximately 1 hour later you have made your way to Ventura or any of the other nearby seaside cities. All in all Hwy 126 is more than a passage way between 2 cities, it is a great stretch of land, all you have to do is stop and take a look around.
Last October I toured southern California with musician Patrick Park, a LomoKino and a plethora of film. I'd intended to capture the scenic terrain and abstract beauty of the land, but fell short on my first attempt to control the Lomokino.

Thirty-five degrees. Summer. Lisbon. Seven hills. Worst combination ever! What better to do than to escape the horrible heat of a tropical summer day in Lisbon with its too many hills to a fabulous beach that is just one bridge away? It's enough to just cross the stunning 25th of April Bridge to arrive in an exotic paradise, with great waves and even better people.
This is a tribute to a founding father of photography, the American photographer Paul Strand. In 1955, he released a book about Luzzara, a small town in central Italy, in collaboration with the famous neo-realist screenwriter Cesare Zavattini. To pay homage to this great artist, this summer I personally went to Luzzara to take a series of photos that shows the changes in this little town 60 years after the work of Strand was published.

Last Sunday, a great yoga event was held in Cernobbio, a small tourist town near the city of Como. Local association Breathe Como made a performance of power yoga exercises to raise funds for Africa. I developed the film a few days ago, and today I'll show the photos to you! I call this "Fresh From My Darkroom" because I developed the black and white films by myself! Take a look!
