Recap: Lomokino Movie Maker

On June 2nd, two young movie-makers set out for their big debut! The weather was dark, overcast, dramatic, and perfect for a feature film.

We started on the streets, moving our way through the neighborhoods and checking out the local graffiti. Each person was itching for the best backdrop for their movie. Wicker Park provided the perfect mix of gorgeous nature with gritty street graffiti and creepy alleyways.

In the end, both Lomographers ended up shooting their film in the park with the help of our cheery staff. Thanks for coming out to this great event guys! We can’t wait to see the finished products.

Happenings on Film: Graffiti Contest for Expo 2015

On the last Saturday of July, the old district of Borgo Vico hosted an art and music festival. There was also a graffiti contest, and the winner will exhibit his work at the Como Business Center for Expo 2015. I used my Zorki 4 loaded with an Ilford FP4+ film to document the event. I focused on the young artists who, amid the swirl of activity, had to concentrate on their large-scale pieces.

    Zenit KM: Feathered Friends

Their movement is as hard to predict as the weather. One minute they're on a standstill, the next they horde the sky with their brisk wings. This is precisely why people need binoculars and camouflage suits just to trace the track of birds. Similarly for photographers, these creatures present a friendly challenge. To capture the perfect stance, on land as in mid-air, is a reward.

Remarkable Film Photographs Captured by the Homeless Featured on Cafe Art 2016 My London Calendar

Armed with disposable cameras, a number of people affected by homelessness in London trooped out in the streets and captured life from their individual perspectives. That was in July; now, 13 photographs have been selected via public vote and will be featured on the upcoming calendar by Cafe Art, an initiative that "[showcases] artwork created by people affected by homelessness or are socially vulnerable."
