And as she joined our Community, her Lomographs impressed us along with her bubbly personality. It is a pleasure to have her as this week’s Newcomer of the Week as she has a very wonderful Lomo love story, indeed! Let us all welcome, jesslynnathalya!

Please tell us a little something about yourself.

You must have seen me once or several times, or not. It’s because I’ve shown up in Lomography’s advertisement since Lomography often use their member’s photos them, right? And luckily i’ve been one of their banners’ model!

So, hello! Greetings from Indonesia to you all. I am Jesslyn Nathalya Chandra, you can call me Jesslyn. I am currently studying Management at Economic Faculty. I am in my final semester and have to finish my thesis soon! I love dancing but recently this Lomo world has got my attention.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

One plain afternoon, I passed by an eye-catching camera store and to my surprise, the owner of that adorable store is ping-junior. Then, bebopbebop got heartbroken (oops!) and asked me and robotto_dawad to accompany him to buy a camera at ping_junior’s store. The La Sardina El Capitan became his sweetest escape and by looking at bebopbebop’s photos and his passion for Lomography, I built a little interest. Then, I don’t know how to tell it, but I am now bebopbebop’s loved one and as a LomoGuru he slowly dragged me to the LomoWorld. He is the one who bought me my Fuji Silvi 1000 LS (aww <3) and in return I made a LomoHome. Yay! :)

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

Rule #8! You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film.

In this digital age, why still film?

Because of the curiousity it brings. And I think each film has its own mood. They will simply surprise you so watch-out! Ohh. Film swapping with all these people in this Milky Way is a brilliant concept that digital photography missed.

Any song or movie you live by? Please share.

I love Disney movies. Maybe a little part of me still wants to be a Disney Princess. Hahaha!

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

To meet inspiring people with their unique talents from all around the world and see their incredible photos more and more.

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?

My so-preppy camera the Lomography Fisheye no. 2 Lime Punch! Because I finally know how fishes see from their perspective. Hahaha. It makes me go WOW.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

Mmmmm LC-A? LC-Wide? Horizon Perfekt? Or the newly revived Fuji Natura Clasica! <3

Your favorite section or page in our Lomography site?

Photos! That’s where I get my inspiration. Bunch of outstanding photos right there. :)

Share your current favorite Lomograph (could be yours or a friend’s) and explain why it is your favorite.
