Location: Bandung, Indonesia
Current film cameras: Lomography Diana Mini and Holga 120N

Please tell us a little something about yourself.

I’m a man who loves film photography, classic rock songs, art, and recently I just graduated from college.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

It began when I accidentally found a local Community who loves toys camera. During that time, I was really confused with the type and the brand, and they often mention about Lomography. So I browsed about it and found amazing pictures from all over the world! Finally, I bought my very first Lomography camera, the Diana Mini! I made a LomoHome account right away but was still confused with the features so I abandoned it for a couple of months.

The one who taught me about uploading photos, making an album, etc. was taufik_rachman and he convinced me to be active in this Community because there are just so many good things about it! After that, I often check this site at least once a day.

He sure is loving the square format!

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

“Take your camera everywhere you go” because you can’t repeat spontaneous moments!

In this digital age, why still film?

I think film photography is romantic. Even though I can’t develop the film by myself, the feeling while shooting the object, wondering how it’s gonna be, sending the rolls to the photolab and seeing the results are irreplaceable.

Any song or movie you live by? Please share.

Aerosmith – Fly Away From Here
When I’m stuck with something or bored, I just listen to this song.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

To get inspiration from other photos, to share my photos and articles. and to join competitions as well!

Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?

The Holga 120N! Since my Diana Mini broke, I always take a picture using this camera. I love the vignette especially when it is loaded with slide film — yummy! I love the square format and I love using 35mm film with the Holga to expose the sprocket holes.

Holga Sprockets indeed are lovely!

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

It must be LC-A! This camera has an auto exposure so I can shoot in low light conditions. It’s small so I can take it everywhere and make my hobby, street photography, easier. Recently, I joined the LC-A+ 20th anniversary competition and how I wish I’ve won the competition!

Your favorite section or page in our Lomography site?

The Magazine! I like sharing my life and my country especially when it’s about my city. I also join competitions and read some articles.

Share your current favorite Lomograph. Why?

It was a fun scene with my little cousins. Well, I had to wait for the road to clear to keep them safe.

I am a Mad Analogue Scientist: New Experiments with 35mm Films and Chemicals

Unfortunately, it happens sometimes that your resulting pictures are not what you expected - the image doesn't look that good, the colors are bland, and the subject is banal. Indeed, it couldn't be picture of the year! Herein I propose a second chance for your pictures by modifying your 35mm negatives. Just pick up some ideas from here, experiment, and scan your negatives with the Lomography Smartphone Scanner. Anything is possible: burning, scratching, putting on hydrochloric acid, balsamic vinegar, nail polish, bleach, or raspberry juice... use your imagination and write down your new film soup recipe! You can find a sample of the effects in this article.

    Finally, My Own Petzval Lens

In April of this year I had the chance to test the Petzval Lens and to write a review on it for the German photography forum Kwerfeldein. The lens excited me from the very beginning, at the time it was introduced on Kickstarter. I was afraid that once I had tested the lens, I would want to have one of my own! Well, that’s what happened; a year later, I finally bought my very own Petzval lens.

She might have been away from her own family on such an important day, but grazie was fortunate to find good company with her fellow travelers.
