Bob Dylan’s most celebrated work is from the 60’s, the anthemic ‘Blowin in the Wind’ probably on top of people’s lists, or the six-minute single ‘Like a Rolling Stone. ‘His discography spans over 50 records in over five decades and his most recent album was released only last year.

Bob Dylan has won 11 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and yes, even an Oscar! He was one of the thirteen honorees to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from US President Barrack Obama on May 2012.

The iconic American singer-songwriter is most notably recognized around the globe for his contributions to music. Although more identified with folk music than any other medium, Bob Dylan crossed over to several music genres—-personalizing them into forms entirely his own—-throughout his career. Aside from folk, Dylan has dabbled in blues, country, rock ‘n roll, rockabilly, and even jazz. His guitar, harmonica and keyboards have been essential ingredients to live performances.

Dylan is also recognized as an artist and a writer. His paintings have been on exhibit at New York’s Gagosian Gallery, and a book of his drawings has been published. Literary critics have paid much attention to the lyrics of his songs, comparing him to the likes of poets Elliot, Keats, and Tennyson.

Clearly, Bob Dylan is a man of intrepid talent. The musician, poet and artist remains to be one of the most influential figures in American music and pop culture.
