Fly Over, Balinsasayao

What really the southern Philippines is all about!

Most of us know that Philippines are composed of islands packed together that looked like some sort of a dog or a sloth to some that drastically sits in Southwest Pacific. There are a lot of beaches, mountains, and places to visit. One of the places I visited is Balinsasayao Mountain Resort. It can be located in Dauin, Dumaguete, just the southernmost part of the Negros Island.

The place is quite awesome. There is the beach in Dauin where you can scream for the sunrise. A little 30-minute hike in the mountain trails and you’ll find the mountain resort, safe from the busy city that gives you some stressful reactions.

Up there you’ll find a little lake where we spent most of our time pondering upon the waters. A little night time plea can give you a tent under a vast clear night sky with stars. You can then view in the morning the coastal areas up in the mountain. Too tiny to watch, the sun might please you as it glimmers over the ocean like little diamonds.

Also, a little boat called “bangka” can take you in the middle of the lake and have fun. No need to worry, safety vests are also there to keep you from either getting wet or drowned. Mountain top resorts are really great. I enjoyed most of my time in the lake. See for yourself, browse the photos. :-)

    When in London

What makes travel a great experience is the newness of things. The environment, people and culture tend to be different from customs back home. Coming from the Philippines, I found a lot of novel things in the United Kingdom, especially in the city of London.

    Registering Moments With the Lomo'Instant

Some people say instant photos bring about a feeling of nostalgia. Although I often use the Lomo'Instant Camera with different crazy accessories such as the Splitzer and color gels, I have to agree there is something about it — dreamy vignettes maybe? — that always makes me want to go back in time and experience it all over again. In the name of analogue photography and good old memories, we passed by some classic spots in Vienna and took one shot after the other. Take a closer look at our gallery.

Gommorah Girl: An Interview with Valerio Spada

Valerio Spada went beyond his comfort zone and stepped right into the battlefield with his camera. He went to Naples, Italy, an area populated by the Camorra Mafia but also home to Annalisa Durante who, at the age of 14, was killed by a bullet aimed at a Camorra boss. What happened to her could've happened to any of the girls portrayed in the book Gommorah Girl. This work is about Annalisa. It's about all of the girls that, just like her, seem doomed to an unfair destiny - which, hopefully, may still change.

Vicuna's Travel Stories | Burkina Faso: The Land of Upright People

When someone asks me why I love Burkina Faso so much and what's so special about it, I answer without any hesitation: the people. There's something in this country that connects the people together very strongly. Here, foreign visitors are warmly welcomed. And honestly, I think that the portraits I'm most proud of and that I really love are those shot in Burkina Faso. "Why," you ask?
