The Crown Jewel of Singapore tourism is the island of Sentosa. Filled with many an attraction and top notch tourist friendly facilities, it is not uncommon to see many holiday makers in every corner of the island. Immaculately manicured to perfection, even the locals find their way many times each year to take advantage of the clean beaches or a spot of golf.

Located of the south coast of Singapore is the island of Sentosa. Formally known as Pulau Blakang Mati (with a foreboding name: Island of Death from Behind), the island was renamed Sentosa by the Singapore Tourism Board in 1972. The island houses many attractions such as the Underwater World, Butterfly Park and Luge. Plenty of family friendly fun to spend an entire day.

And if visitors prefer a quieter and more relaxing afternoon, Fort Siloso and Images of Singapore allow the knowledge thirsty to soak in the sights and sounds of Singapore in the yesteryear’s.

The pristine white beaches of the tropical island should also not be missed. Along the stretch of white sands, the Southern Point of Continental Asia, a new Wave house and a Cafe Del Mar beach club can be found. Along with many eateries and watering holes, it is easy to grab a cold drink after an afternoon tanning on the beaches.

Come 2010, Sentosa will welcome Resorts World to her shores. An Integrated resort with a Universal Studios theme park, excitement awaits all who visit Sentosa.
