I ❤ My Mom

4

This Sunday is Mother’s Day! Let’s take some time to celebrate and honor our mothers and the mothers around the world. I can only imagine how much effort and patience it required my mother to raise me. I was quite the mischief-maker!

While we all waited in the green room of life for eight months, our lovely mothers were waiting for us on the other side to greet us with a warm hug and smile. She taught you how to tie your shoelaces, she held your hand when you crossed the street and she tucked you into bed at night.

When I was a little kid, my mother and I would make dinner while belting out “The Hills are Alive” from the Sound of Music. Needless to say, that was one of our favourite movies.

We pretended that we were cooks at a fancy restaurant and would speak in (terrible) French accents while we made quiches and her legendary apple pie. And she would always let me lick the whisk instead of my brother. #youngestchildperks

And every night, she would tuck me into bed. She would stay up for hours singing lullabies and reading fairytales because I was afraid of the dark…and that’s just the beginning.

Now here I am, eighteen years later and she’s still singing me lullabies. I’m kidding, I’m not afraid of the dark anymore. She’s done so much and given up so much for me. I don’t know how I’ll ever return it all back to her.

On that note, let’s take a look at some of our Lomography Mom’s snapped on our favourite Lomography Cameras!

Like Robert Munsch once said, “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, my Mommy you’ll be.”

I love you mom and thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking care of me, my brother and my father. I hope you’ll like what surprises we’ve got planned for you this Sunday!

How will you guys be celebrating your Mother’s Day? What’s your favourite bonding moment with your mother? Let us know in the comments below!

Fresh from My Darkroom: Yoga for Africa!

Last Sunday, a great yoga event was held in Cernobbio, a small tourist town near the city of Como. Local association Breathe Como made a performance of power yoga exercises to raise funds for Africa. I developed the film a few days ago, and today I'll show the photos to you! I call this "Fresh From My Darkroom" because I developed the black and white films by myself! Take a look!

Kick-Off Country: Kicking Off the World Cup Blues in Paris

Les Bleus may have been booted out of the World Cup by Germany, but for me France is always a winner. The number of places to go around Paris, especially, can never be exhausted: the Eiffel Tower, Sacré Cœur, the Seine, the Arc de Triomphe, and this time, I fell in love with the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise.

Perfect Combination: Fuji Instax Mini Film and the Diana Instant Back

Just recently I asked myself why I would want to write about a film like the Fuji Instax Mini, because usually this film is the only one available for Fuji Instax cameras. But then it hit me! It can be an alternative to many other instant films, since I can load almost any film into my Diana F+, other medium and 135 format cameras, and of course the Fuji Instax Mini.

A Salute to the Masters: The Democratic Eye (A Tribute to William Eggleston)

William Eggleston is one of the most important contemporary master and pioneer of color photography. In this article I write a tribute to his particular democratic way of looking around. For him "Nothing was more important or less important", and everything is worthy of being photographed. Again, he is fond of the dear old film; he said that "I don't think much about the digital world, because I am in the analog world!". Read more after the jump!
