Instant Photography Tips: Instax Love with Fuji Instax Mini 7!

1

My dad gave me this Fuji Instax Mini 7 in 2004, and got me 3 packs as I remember those days. I was a high school student back then, and was about to learn analogue photography. On 2004 I don't know Lomography at all and in terms of instant photography all I know was Polaroid. So Polaroid = instant photography in my mind back then. But since I started to use Fuji Instax Mini 7, I began to love instant photography easily. Instax Love!

Hairy Harry!

So here’s my tipster on instant photography tips especially using Fuji Instax Mini 7 since I used it and couldn’t afford a Polaroid camera.

1. Always use flash when indoors!

Damn! I think this one everybody knows it and it’s easy to do it! But some people are maybe puzzled because there’s two lights, the green and the red light on the camera. Green means go! and red means you should set the camera again before firing away! To clear those doubts before shooting (since you have only 10 shots per pack) you have to wait until the green light appears. Be patient and have fun!

2. Shoot closely with flash!

Using flash has a certain distance to get that crisp and nice instant result, so all I want to say is remember to shoot close but not too much so you can get a nice result. I sometimes make some mistakes shooting more than 1.5 meters. It’s still good, but it’s not good if you are group of people, you know what I mean. Relax and let the Instax camera capture your fun moments!

3. Shoot Portraits!

I just love shooting portraits with this camera! And the most fun part is after you shoot, the result will be there in just a few seconds. I love this part of instant photography! Portraits and instant photography is synonymous in my opinion.

4. Instax Love!

Do you just love it to see the people’s reaction after taking shots of them using Fuji Mini Instax? it’s priceless! It’s all smiles! Be merry and shoot your loved ones! Buy a lot of Fuji Instax mini film and shoot your loved ones! Why not? Spread the Instax Love!

Perfect Combination: Fuji Instax Mini Film and the Diana Instant Back

Just recently I asked myself why I would want to write about a film like the Fuji Instax Mini, because usually this film is the only one available for Fuji Instax cameras. But then it hit me! It can be an alternative to many other instant films, since I can load almost any film into my Diana F+, other medium and 135 format cameras, and of course the Fuji Instax Mini.

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! We all had the same expression: "Whoa..."

    Fresh from the Lab: 1990

A weekend without a lomowalk seems bad, at least for me. One Saturday morning, I decided to join my friends in their lomowalk. It was all cloudy at first but it didn't stop me from going out and walking. I brought my new Nikon FM2 and some expired rolls, just to test my camera. Was it just me being sleepy, or was my Nikon FM2 acting up? My photos turned out grainy, pale, and, in my opinion, looking so 1990s?
