A Click and a Clack with LomoKino LomoAmigo Nia_ffm

Three months into turning a year older in this Community and she has more than Lomographs and LomoKino movies than we expected! Looks like this femme truly got hooked in the analogue craze!

Impressive Lomographs and a bunch of interesting LomoKino films are what we can see in her LomoHome. She sure is friendly, too! And with the analogue bug that bit her, looks like she won’t be turning away for quite a while.

Come and read more about this lady from Frankfurt, this week’s LomoKino LomoAmigo, nia_ffm!

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I am a student of History and Journalism, right now I am writing my thesis. What happens after that in June – we’ll see!

Since I started with Lomography in August 2012 I kind of got addicted to collecting cameras and films, I guess like the most of us here. I spend most of my time at the desk working on my thesis these days so I try to take breaks outside with my cameras to visit parks, the local botanical garden, the zoo or just go out for a stroll. I like to spend time with my boyfriend and friends, go to the movies, read books or watch some TV series.

Describe the LomoKino in five words.

Clackclackclack, handy, beautiful, analogue, creative!

How did you like shooting with the LomoKino?

I love it! Especially how it works with the LomoKino handgrip is awesome. I never did analogue filming before and I really enjoy it. I also really like the noises while shooting.

What or who has inspired you to purchase and use the LomoKino?

Actually I won the LomoKino in a competition but at the moment I got it, I fell in love with it. The opportunity to shoot an analogue movie is amazing!

A Day in the Life of Jakob

Any funny or strange encounters you’ve had with it?

I got a few strange looks from people watching me filming, but nothing further yet.

IIf you could shoot any person alive or dead (or imaginary) with your LomoKino, who would it be and why?

I guess I would choose the young Paul Newman. Perhaps together with Robert Redford, like in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid or The Sting. I just adore these two men and I guess to shoot with them would be great.

Kindly share to us any LomoKino movie you love the most.

I like a lot of them, but this one from goonies came in my mind first:

Any future plans with your LomoKino? More shoots or a full-length film perhaps?

I definitely want to try a movie with a double exposed film again. I loved how the first try looked and want to work on that technique. I wanted to do a movie project with elenya-y since last year and I hope we manage to do it in 2013. And I want to do more projects with my boyfriend making music for the movies. And of course I want to try different films with the LomoKino.

Your advice to future LomoKino users.

I don’t really feel in the position to give advice, but I think Lomography Golden Rule #6 always works: Don’t think – just shoot! So just go out and try it!

A Sunny Sunday

A Dream of a Long Lost Love

    A Color Remix

It's human nature to be restless and imaginative. The real may be interpreted as what one sees or how one sees something. For the daydreamer, a scene from nature transforms into a canvas. Suddenly a field makes room for chemical coloring, all those anachronistic streaks that somehow look right. Or else, those beautiful colors amplified or subdued to their most pictorial shades. All in the world of trial-and-process film photography.
