If you walk to Santiago or if you already live there, you cannot not go to Quinta Normal Park. Recently remodeled, it is the ideal place to go to shoot at all times.
El Quinta Normal Park is located in the commune of the same name and is one of the few remaining urban parks in the city. Built in the period of greatest economic boom in the city, the International Exhibition of 1875 was held there, and currently, it has within its premises the National Museum of Natural History, Museum of Contemporary Art, Cultural Corporation Balmaceda Arte Joven and the Quinta Normal Conservatory which is currently under restoration, among others.
The park has a variety of vegetation, including a botanical park and playground which you can often see filled with groups of people doing different activities like sports, band rehearsals, children playing, couples strolling — basically enjoying a beautiful location in the middle of the city. Recent renovations included water games and an artificial lake where you can hire boats to use.
Another interesting place to visit within the park is the Railroad Museum of Santiago, which is extremely photogenic. You can also have the opportunity to photograph ancient antique locomotives and cars, and get on, simulating a trip as in the past.
You can even rent a bike and take a ride within the park.
You can visit from the park from Tuesday to Sunday from 7:30AM to 8:00PM. and arrive at the station Metro Quinta Normal.
