What's in Your Toy Box?

Gabriele Galimberti’s captures a simple series of children and their favourite toys. However, the seemingly endearing series may convey a darker message concerning societal consumerism, economic, and political variations.

Over a period of eighteen months, Italian photographer, Gabrielle Galimberti, captures photos of children with their favourite toys.

He found that children in wealthier countries were more possessive with their toys while children in poverty-stricken countries were more generous, despite having so little.

It’s remarkable to see how consumerism has thrived in wealthier countries, while children in lesser-privileged countries are enjoying themselves with toys of lesser commercial value.

Psst, Mr. Galimberti isn’t quite the analogue fanatic himself! What’s in his toy box? Could it be a Lomography Camera?
