Nowadays, we depend so much on technology that we forget about life's little pleasures of when we were not so hooked to our gadgets.
Don’t misunderstand me, I am one of those who get really excited about the new inventions and developments which save us time and allow us to connect with people who are a thousand miles away with just one click. However, I realize that if I don’t make a pause every once in a while, I can lose contact with things that are actually very important to me.
I have to be honest, it’s difficult for me to disconnect and put my gadgets away, but when I incorporated analogue photography back to my life (after years of only using digital), I realized that sometimes, things that take some more time are the things I enjoy the most.
I guess that this fist step has made me think about making an extra effort to take up again analogue activities:
Simple things like reading more on paper than on a screen
Going to the outdoor market at the weekends instead of buying the groceries on the internet supermarket.
More bicycle and less motorcycle
Going to the newsstand instead of checking the RSS
Taking the time for the Sunday’s breakfast
Walking through places I already know, but looking at them differently
Playing outdoors with friends
Surfing more in the sea and less on the internet
Sharing the lomolove with my iPhone friends
Less instant music and more live experiences
I guess that we all have our little daily battles, what are yours?
