In the Country

7

Lush greens, fresh air, and cows grazing almost everywhere. This is what a country usually looks like, and coming from someone who resides in the city, it sure is a lovely experience.

It’s quiet and the fruits are always fresh. The water is clear and you can ride horses for free. Sounds fun, right? Definitely for a life in the country is truly a blissful one!

Not everyone may experience this life but there’s nothing wrong with that. For the mountains could be traveled and with that, the memories surely are stored not only in your mind but through your favorite film camera as well! And since we’ve had enough of the city with last week’s The City You Live In we give you a special selection of Lomographs shot in the country. It’s a refreshing one! Enjoy, fellas! :)

    When in London

What makes travel a great experience is the newness of things. The environment, people and culture tend to be different from customs back home. Coming from the Philippines, I found a lot of novel things in the United Kingdom, especially in the city of London.

Vicuna's Travel Stories | Burkina Faso: The Land of Upright People

When someone asks me why I love Burkina Faso so much and what's so special about it, I answer without any hesitation: the people. There's something in this country that connects the people together very strongly. Here, foreign visitors are warmly welcomed. And honestly, I think that the portraits I'm most proud of and that I really love are those shot in Burkina Faso. "Why," you ask?

Apparently, this is a fulfillment of her own dream that she had when she was younger. In this interview, Izzo talks about her beginnings which, of course, included going to as many shows and festivals as she possibly can; some of her most memorable on-the-job-experiences with the likes of The Doors, Lykke Li, Jack White, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Chris Robinson Brotherhood; her inspirations and other interests; and her love for film photography and Diana Mini. And to those looking into fulfilling their own dreams of working in the same industry, Izzo also shares helpful advice based on her own experiences.

A Salute to the Masters: The Enchanted Forest (A Tribute to Ugo Mulas)

This article is dedicated to the Italian street photographer and portraitist Ugo Mulas who masterfully documented the miniature circus of the great sculptor Alexander Calder. To write this tribute I documented a recent Christmas event in my city Como, a wonderful exhibition of vintage toys in a forest of snow-covered pines. Take a look!
