Please erect—I mean, direct—your attention to today's Overly Descriptive Title photo.
“Leave that alone. Don’t touch it! It’s a very important work of art!” said one of the female characters in Stanley Kubrick’s cult classic, _A Clockwork Orange_, before she was avante-gardely struck to death with the penis sculpture. Here, the filmmaker and former photojournalist is captured cheek-to-cheek (well, “head-to-head”) with the phallus in an outtake from the 1971 production.
Above is another behind-the-scenes shot from Kubrick's psychological and socio-cultural flick, this time showing sequences from one of the many hard-to-forget scenes featuring lead character Alex, played by Malcolm McDowell.
It’s one of those visually and intellectually stimulating movies that you must see but might wish you hadn’t afterwards. Maybe just cover your eyes (or private parts) for some scenes?

This article is dedicated to one of the most important masters of photography, Robert Capa. Capa is well known for his photos of war, from the famous image of the Republican Spanish soldier collapsing backwards after being fatally shot to his images taken in Indochina. He was also a co-founder of the famous Magnum Photo Agency, the first cooperative agency for freelance photographers worldwide. For this article, I took advantage of a rare event held in my city, Como, some weeks ago: a military drill for civil protection purposes.
