Meet Indonesia LomoAmigo : Sondy!

16

Let's welcome our Community LomoAmigo, Sondy, from Indonesia! From his pictures, not only can you experience the beautiful landscape in his surroundings, but also can taste the possibility of shooting portrait with analogue cameras! Read on to know more about Sondy!

Name: Sondy
LomoHome username: gendis
City: Yogyakarta, Indonesia

Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?

I am from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I am an accountant on weekdays but at weekends, I always go photo shooting with my analogue cameras! Recently, I am interested in taking portraits with beautiful models as I think it is quite different from taking landscape. “Don’t think just shoot” and “Shooting from the hips” are my favorite Lomography Golden Rules ! I like double exposures and accidental light leaks on the film!

How long have you been a Lomographer and how did you find out about the Community?

Approximately 5 years. I firstly knew about Lomography was on a local Television programme, talking about LomoWalk in Jakarta, Indonesia. I am attracted by the vibrant colors on the cameras and the amazing effect brought by LC-A+.

Can you share the story behind your album “This day after 2 years eruption” with us? How do you feel when you visit the site 2 years later?

Me and my family are now living in Jakarta while our hometown is in Jogjakarta. There was an eruption of Merapi Mountain 2 years before and over 100,00 had to be evacuated. When me and my family arrived there, it was still recovering from the disaster. I have joint a volcano tour there, and I shot a lot.

What famous person (dead or alive) would like to have a drink with?

The first one will be Terry Richardson. I am his huge fans. I love his work! And the second one is Claudia Schiffer .I admired her so much! She is beautiful and always looks young with classic looks.

As you have mentioned that “gendis mean sugar”. Can you show us some examples of your sweetest photos?

These are some examples of the sweet pictures that I have taken!

You have work with model a lot. Why would you choose to work with model with film camera?

It is because I like taking natural pictures without editing. It sometimes amazes the models too, since people rarely shoot with film camera nowadays. And I often talk about different film cameras with my models during shooting. We mentioned Lomography cameras before, and I found out that we all like the bright colors of the cameras!

Which one is your favorite lomography camera for taking portrait?

I can hardly pick one from my favourite. Umm.. I love LC-A+ because of its vignetting. I like LC-Wide too since I can choose to shoot with full, square or half-format! Diana F+ and Holga CFN 120 are my choices too, I am attracted by the dreamy effects they brought!

Kindly share with us your most loved photos.

Any future plans or tips with your LC-A+?

LC-A+ works well in both close up and wide angle! Try to adjust the focus to get different results! And remember to check the battery! I will bring along my LC-A+ wherever I go!

Your advice to future LC-A+ users?

It would be nice if LC-A+ can have half-frame like LC-Wide!

The Lomo LC-A+ is known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. Get your own Lomo LC-A+ now!

Apart from creating beautiful portraits, the Petzval Lens is great for adding an albeit subtle drama to the already spectacular scenes of music festivals. Japanese photographer Taio Konishi photographed this year's Glastonbury with a Petzval 85mm Lens, and here are some of the photos. He also talks about his Petzval-meets-Glastonbury experience in this exclusive.
