The Retro/Vintage Hype is not only currently happening in photography, but also in the music industry. Was it not beautiful when you could hold a vinyl record with a beautifully designed album cover in your hands?
Although the vinyl record has been making a comeback for some time now, the mass number of music listeners have already saved their music on digital media. The cover of a vinyl record or a CD is no longer so important. For many listeners, this is only available in digital form on their smartphones or MP3 player.
Because of this, we love those projects like those made by Robert Penney (Penney Design) even more. The designer has given modern singles a different look, such as Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” and “What A Waster” by the British band The Libertines. The results are pretty covers done in the style of 1960s, making the singles not so different from the “real” vintage singles by Elvis Presley, The Rolling Stones, and many other great artists of the past. Viewing the pictures, you’ll be delighted to take out a vinyl record from a beautifully printed record sleeve! See for yourself:
