4 Years in Paradise: Living and Learning in French Polynesia

People seek extraordinary experiences while traveling, but not everyone gets to have an adventure of a lifetime. When lomographer Stephane Heinz (popularly known as vicuna in the Lomography community) saw the opportunity, he took the chance to travel and live miles away from his hometown in France. He and his wife, Kathi, came back home with a luggage full of valuable experiences and life lessons. Vicuna tells us about his four-year adventure in French Polynesia in this travel special.

The Adventures of Edwin and his Belair Instant Camera

Edwin from the Lomography Team first learnt about Lomo cameras when he was studying design. The first roll of Fisheye 1 from his photography classes made him very happy, and he kept Lomo in his life ever since. In his last trip to Taiwan, Edwin brought along the Belair Instant Camera. Did this Instant Camera bring him the same happiness? What does Edwin think about his travel companion?

LomoAmigos: The Ting Tings Go Analogue!

The Ting Tings are a musical duo from Manchester who have more pop hits than you can shake a stick at. They are most famous for their 2008 hit "That's Not My Name" which got even the stiffest of people shaking in their seats. The Ting Tings are back with a brand new album called Super Critical. They are big film fanatics (check out their website for proof) so we gave them a Sprocket Rocket Camera and a bunch of film to document their life in sunny IBIZA.

Spinner 360: Pull the Cord and Let the Magic Happen!

The story between the Spinner 360 and I goes way back to the year 2010, when Lomography decided to send me a beta model of the Spinner 360 to test. It was a complete surprise! I thought, "What the hell is that?" as I first took this camera out of the package. Then, when my little brother grabbed it from me and pulled the cord, it buzzed and turned 360°! Tinker on the fly: A color filter made from spoiled film

Probably each one of you has been annoyed with failed film. This is particularly annoying when you get the developed film back from the lab, but you get blanks because the film was not exposed. It's either the film transport didn't work, or you have not taken the lens cap off, etc. Read on and I'll show you an alternative to just throwing away the film: Simply use it as a color filter for your camera, with the La Sardina for example.
