My review of the versatile Ilford film, in story form.
A few months ago, before leaving home for work I had to choose one film. Saw that the weather saw it sunny.. Then I chose the only Ilford I had. Low ISO, b&w (perfect for those winter sunny days I thought)… But the next few days the weather turns over, cloudy all the time… I thought my film was ruined… But the film did not disappoint!
What most surprised me was it’s versatile. Great photos in sunset, in long exposures, with flash, but also in those rainy days. Good contrast (even in low light days), sharpness. And great resolution.
But even more perfect was it’s grey scale. I live near Porto, and let me be honest, Porto it’s a grey city. Lovely, but grey. And when it’s cloudy…. It’s even more “dark”, sometimes near decadent. And this film, by itself, captured the mood of the city and the people I met on my way…
The photos I took connected me to the past. I love that feeling, I love the film. (LSI can you get some of these???)
