Perfect Combination: Lomo LC-A+/LC-Wide and Kodak Ektachrome E100GX

6

Since everybody has been sharing their favorite analogue pairings, I thought it's about time I tell you guys about mine. Actually, it's a lomo-love triangle between the Lomo LC-A+, LC-Wide, and Kodak Ektachrome E100GX. Let me tell you about this pleasant menage a trois and the fruits of their trysts after the jump!

It was the Lomo LC-Wide I loaned from projectsnap who first met the bashful Kodak Ektachrome E100GX slide film last year, when I brought them to Ilocos Norte for a northbound birthday trip. The pair marveled at the beauty of the northern Philippine province, taking in picturesque landscapes, natural wonders, the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse, and capped the day off with a seaside stroll along the scenic Blue Lagoon in Pagudpud. The photos from their meeting are certainly among the best that I’ve ever taken, and prove that their pairing is nothing short of perfect.

Come April 2012, it was the turn of my beloved Lomo LC-A+ to enjoy a tryst with the Ektachrome E100GX. I brought the two along with me for a quick trip to Singapore, and they also made a great pair, perhaps not too surprising since the LC-A+ is related to the wide-eyed LC-Wide. The fruits of their union are also breath-taking, and seeing them made my heart swell with glee that they were able to document my adventures in Singapore with such beauty and elegance.

Then, later in November 2012, both the LC-A+ and the LC-Wide got their chance to be paired again with the versatile Kodak slide film when I brought them to Malaysia for a week-long escapade. Again, the pleasant menage a trois wowed me with their beautiful photos, which eventually became some of my best and treasured travel snaps to date. Architecture, street scenes, on the road, historic spots, sunrise, and blue skies — all of them were rendered delightfully vibrant.

The LC-Wide photos start at Photo 17.
