My Analogue Resolution for 2013: Become a Better Lomographer!

5

2012 was a great year for me as a Lomographer, but I want to make 2013 even better! Here are a few resolutions for 2013 that can make the year better than the previous one AND help me become a better Lomographer.

This year, I’m aspiring to be a better Lomographer, but nothing can ever get done simply by dreaming about it. That’s why I’ve comprised this list of resolutions for the New Year to start the year in the right direction. Who knows? Maybe my list will inspire you to resolve to be a better Lomographer, too!

Take at least one photo a day

I think this is probably the most important resolution, as it can help me not only become a better Lomographer, but also help me develop skills to become a better photographer. Taking at least one photo a day will also aid me in understanding my cameras and film. On top of all that, it will make a great way to document the year as it goes by. It’s important to remember that Lomography isn’t an interference in my life, but a part of it!

Contribute more to the Lomography Magazine

Last year, I wrote ONE article. Just one. I think that’s pretty sad. So, this year, I am resolving to contribute more to the Lomography Magazine by submitting more articles. Reviews, Tipsters, Locations, and Analogue Lifestyle pieces like this one!

Participate in Film Swaps and LomoWalks

I’ve always wanted to do a film swap or a LomoWalk with my fellow Lomographers, but I never did anything about it in 2012. This year, that’s going to change! It’ll be a great opportunity to meet new people who have similar interests as I do. They might even teach me a thing or two about photography.

Experiment More

This year, I’m resolving to experiment more. With different film, light conditions, subjects, cameras, anything and everything. In doing this, it will surely flex my photographic muscles, add some variety to my photos, and I will definitely learn a lot in the process.

“Forget about safety margins and unnecessary shyness!”

Golden Rule #4 was my inspiration for this and there’s a good reason for it, too. There is no excuse to hide behind a camera. So this year, I resolve to shoot from the hip, get up close and personal to strangers, and even break a few rules.

And last but not least…

Spend more time with family and friends and make them part of my analogue life!

Family and friends are a huge part of my life, and so is Lomography! That is why it’s important to involve them in my analogue life.

With all of these resolutions, I’m hoping to not only become a better Lomographer but also to make my analogue life more awesome! So what about you? What promises do you intend to keep to make your analogue life more awesome? Share them in the comments section!

@dopa sadly, I only achieved my last three resolutions, but I still think thats better than not having achieved any. I found it difficult to take a picture every day and contribute to the lomography magazine since it was my last year of school and I was busy studying most of time. I know it only take a little bit of time during the day, but most of the time I was finding it hard to focus on just my school work. So I plan to carry these resolutions on to this year! How about you?

But I have literally no idea who took this shot – That’s why I came here, to ask for your help on my search for my mysterious photographer and to try and get to bottom of the riddle they wrote me. Please help me if you can!

The Magic Yet To Come: Part 1

Here’s a random and rather mysterious tale for you folks. Just the other day, I was at a local bar with a few friends. It was much like any other evening; we were sipping a couple of cocktails, recounting our adventures, falling over ourselves with laughter and half-drunkenly meditating on the meaning of life (a scientist once told me it’s 42 by the way). But then something truly strange happened. Read on to hear my story and please make a comment with your guess at the end!

12 Months, 12 Projects: March Of Caffenol

My list of resolutions for 2015 consists of 12 projects, one for every month. March was for caffenol. You have probably heard of the amazing fact that you can develop black and white photos with coffee, sodium, and vitamin C. I had tried this before but with less than stellar results. Somehow, there's always something going wrong. Time to devote a few rolls to caffenol to finally get the hang of it.

Sometimes when taking pictures I get addressed by strangers either because of my cameras or because they don't want me to shoot something they claim they have responsibility for. But having the police on my back was a new experience.
