I, missnothing, have lent my Sprocket Rocket loaded with a Lomography CN 100 and a Lomography Xpro Slide 200 to my aunt Maricruz and turned her into a "Lomographer for a Day." Take a look at what she's done!
Since I developed my pictures from my trip to Rome, I’ve been proudly showing them to my family. Some of them look at my analog cameras and pictures with smiley eyes. My aunt Maricruz, who is an addicted to photography and all the kind of cameras, has been the first one to try the analog adventure.
She felt especially attracted to the results of the great panoramic photos from the Sprocket Rocket. So, a couple of weeks ago, she and my camera went on a trip to India.
When she got back and once the pictures were developed and scanned, she was very happy with the results!
How long has it been since you had shot a film roll?
I think it was 12 years ago, the first time I got a digital camera. But I still keep hundreds of slides that would be great to digitize.
How would you describe the experience in five words?
Panoramic, easy, different, fun, surprising.
Which picture, out of all you took, you like the best, and why?
No doubt about it, it’s one of those that I took to the Taj Mahal. The monument itself is wonderful that leaves you without a breath, but I like this picture because I could show everything that I was looking at, including the palace and their gardens. And the green color of the film gives it the exotic touch that is in the environment.
If you could teleport to any part of the world with this camera and lots of film, which would it be and why?
Machu Picchu, in Peru. It’s my dream to travel there and take pictures of everything. It’s a place full of magic, culture, and landscapes that I would love to capture with a camera.
After your experience coming back to film, would you like to continue? What other camera gets your attention?
I like the Diana cameras so much, for their square-shaped pictures and the film that they use, which I haven’t seen so much. This way, I try different things and learn on the way.
My aunt Maricruz is all of an adventurer. She’s always happy to try new things and, although shooting with films is actually a comeback for her, it’s still a new feeling for her to be waiting for the results.
She liked it that much that she’s not only trying again, but she’s joining this community anytime soon. And, of course, she will be very welcome!
