Having two nephews who are constantly around me all day through out the entire week enticed me to jump into children photography! Introducing all of you, readers, to Ryan (3 yrs old) and Adam (1 yr old). So, take a look at their adorable antics and enjoy the read!
Many would say that children photography is not an easy art to master, but I would like to beg to differ. In the world of Lomography, the Ten Golden Rules teaches us not to be confined by any means of perimeters when we want to shoot a particular subject and in this regard, we are talking about – children!
What we need to have nice shots of child’s play are the first few things that comes into our mind when we speak of them;
Set the stage right, bring them to a children’s play room (or play ground, the beach or wherever)! Let them explore their own little world, stay a safe distance away from them (so as not to distract them) and most importantly, be ready to seize the opportunity when it arises!
The Ten Golden Rules teaches us to bring our good ol’ cameras to wherever we go and it is only for one good reason, children’s spontaneous behaviour can be unpredictable and you might never know when will you need your camera the most!
Children loves to go to the pool, dive into their world and see their funny antics! It would be even a more special occasion if it were their first time entering the pool, capture their first nervous look to the time when they are confident enough to walk in the pool on their own. Their chubby cheeks and round eyes made me feel more inclined to do a close-ups with them, and so should you!
And with that, I do sincerely hope to see more people sharing online their take and perspectives on children photography. I have always believe that children, themselves, are such a great joy in our lives, so why don’t we share the joy with everyone else?
All characters in the photos above were shot with Lomography 100/400 films(:
