A Creative Week for Boris the Pass-on-Lomo with Roxanne

Boris the pass-on-Lomo was surrounded by glitter, paint, pens and cutouts – he stayed at illustrator and artist Roxanne for a week. She’s a busy bee, so it was quite the week. Read along after the jump!

*Who did Boris end up with and what’s his life like? *
My name is Roxanne Dekker. I just turned 30. I live in Amsterdam and work at home as an artist and illustrator. It’s already been 5.5 years since I fell in love with Yousef and 15 years since I fell in love with my best friends. I’m a busy bee – never a quiet moment with me. One night a week I’m Pony Peaches’ DJ.

How did Boris end up with you and which assignment did you get?
I met Boris when I bumped into Baris a.k.a. Sotu the Traveller after not seeing him for the longest time. Talking about Boris the pass-on-lomo got me very interested. My assignment was to shoot a nude photo, an assignment once given to Bat Country and Willem de Bruin. But Baris thought the execution was a bit prude, so I got a second chance at the same assignment.

Were you familiar with Lomography before?
I’ve heard of it, but never photographed as a Lomographer before. I always wanted to try it though, so this project was perfect!

How did you like having Boris around?
I really really liked it. I used to take photos every day – I always took my camera everywhere I went, so this was great! The camera, a Lomo LC-A+, is really nice with its mx-function to take double exposures – really addicting!

How did Boris become part of your life during this week?
There were several ways in which Boris became part of my life:

  • He was with me at all times
  • I was more aware of my surroundings
  • I appreciated everything around me a little more: nature, people, friends, even everyday activities
  • I got a lot of nice reactions to Boris

What did you like taking photos of with Boris?
I captured a lot of special things. I took a photo of a very pregnant friend of mine, took photos at nothing less than 3 birthdays, took photos of dildos when I was DJing at the Jimmy, and took photos of where I work. And of course of Erin’s kittens, my friends having a haircut, the rain and sun, and art at expos!

What did others think of Boris?
He was with me all the time and got a lot of nice comments!

Would you like to experiment some more with Boris or another Lomography camera?
Boris contained a black and white film this week. As I love color, I would like to shoot a color film sometime!

What would you like to be the assignment for the next owner?
Make a quadtych containing:

1. A photo of your past
2. A photo of your present
3. A photo of your future
4. A photo of how you like to be seen

All open to interpretation!

All Boris’ adventures so far:

  1. Liveloving human snowball Omar Kbiri
  2. Dutch lomographer Pien van Dis
  3. Visual genious Lize Korpershoek a.k.a. Lizepietje
  4. Text cloud-master Kakhiel
  5. Copywriter Ilse Beekhof
  6. Rapper Willem de Bruin
  7. Band Bat Country
  8. Graphic designer Freshco
  9. DJ and producer Sotu the Traveller

It’s not a secret that Boris is just a very good looking Lomo LC-A+, known worldwide for its amazing features: automatic exposure, extended ISO range, and multiple and long exposure capabilities. You want your own Boris a.k.a. Lomo LC-A+? Order him through our online shop!
