Struttin' on the Canadian Catwalk - Analogue Style!

Last month was World MasterCard Fashion Week here in Toronto, so we at Lomography Canada got our passes, Lomo-cams and films and headed out to David Pecaut Square in the heart of downtown to snap away at the beautiful outfits (and beautiful people!) that came out for this event. Read on to check out what we captured through the analogue lens!

World MasterCard Fashion Week in Toronto is always a main attraction for the city. Mid-October is the Fall fashion week, bringing designers such as Adrian Wu, Ashtiani, DeMOYO, Joe Fresh, Caitlin Power, Rachel Sin, Triarchy and many more to the big city to display their works on the runway. We got the chance to check out a couple of runway shows and a few studio shows, all of them opening our minds and style to this upcoming Spring season’s fads and trends. There was denim, linen, even dresses made of rugs, courtesy of Korhani Home.

Not only is the fashion on the runway, but many of the people attending came to the Tents at David Pecaut Square dressed their best to impress! From feathers to fur to dresses to studded boots, there was plenty to lay your eyes on even off the runway. This was no place to be caught off guard when it came to what you were wearing!

Photography is always a big part of fashion weeks. One of the most fascinating aspects that we found was the massive photographers’ pit at the end of the runway. All those clicks and the lights flashing, it is quite a sight to see. Imagine having to get that one best shot, while everyone around you is trying to do that same thing also. Getting into the right position, catching those candid moments, fighting for the best spot… Quite the task!
