D.C.'s as blue as ice. There is so much to see and so much to explore. But of course, make sure it's on a warm season.
Five days after President Obama was sworn into office, my family drove to the nation’s capital for a mini-vacation. It turned out to be one of the coldest vacation ever. Sure, it was sunny and the skies were clear but the gusts of wind made the whole thing unbearable. We only managed to stay outdoors for less than an hour and made a beeline for the hotel.
But it also turned out to be one of my most favorite sets. The Kodak Professional Elite Chrome (200 iso) just blew my eyes the moment I got my prints from the lab. It was just so perfectly blue! I would definitely recommend going to Washington D.C. There is so much to see and so much to explore. But of course, make sure it’s on a warm season.
If you want to know the heart of a person, peek inside his/her wardrobe! And no, nobody famous said that; I only just made it up. But really, don't you think it's true? After all, the way we dress screams our personality; at least for most of us. And that is why, as soon as I land on a new city, one of the things I absolutely must do is find the local boutiques. Sure, I love the fancy chain boutiques as much as the next person, but there's just something else about a local clothing store. It's unique!
The 2015 UEFA Champions League Final will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on June 6. It is a place full of history and is also the only football stadium with a blue track course. Some say it is the most beautiful stadium in the world, and I totally agree with them. But then agai,n I might be biased because it is the home court of my favorite team, Hertha BSC Berlin—my blue-white bloodline.
Lomography has teamed up with Foto DC to get a true sense of Washington through a Spring competition. A slew of visceral, expressive images went under the critical eyes of curators Frank Hallam Day's and Melissa Golden, and we have a set of winners! Join us in the D.C. area on July 2 at 6:30 p.m. for an exhibition of the photos of the Faces and Places of D.C.
Recently, I used my trusty Fuji Silvi. It may not be my all-time favorite camera, but I just wanted to use it because I kind of missed shooting with it. So I decided to look through my film stash to see what I could use with the Fuji Silvi. After much consideration, I ended up picking the old Agfa CT Precisa ISO 100 to get that classic blue tone. Silvia Precisa!
Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany. With its 3.5 million residents, it is also the second largest city in the European Union. Berlin has a lot to offer when it comes to culture as there are so many people from many different countries living and working together. Of course, Berlin is also home of Lomography Germany!
Much of modern dance as it is today owes a lot to Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn, husband and wife who founded the famous school and dance company, the Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts in 1915 Los Angeles, California. At first solo artists, St. Denis and Shawn began collaborating a year prior on dances often described as exotic and sensual, at times even erotic.

It looks like it’s time to get out the cameras and pack your bags. Together with the Shift School Dresden, we offered amazing prizes, including an insider trip to Paris, where you can take part in photography courses and visit the world-famous Paris Photo Tradeshow. Of course, there’s also a ton of Lomography prizes at stake like cameras, accessories and film so that the winner can capture memories from the trip on film. And now to announce the winners!
Of course, Italy makes a great destination for taking photos. But what if there was a place where you could find stunning motifs, impressive colors, and the ideal mixture of nature and arts all at once? What if I told you that there is a place like that: a garden full of art in the middle of nowhere?
“Let me tell you about my life turning blue”. Those were the first words the guy on the bench said as he sat down beside me whilst I was eating my lunch. Usually, I prefer to eat alone but there was something about this opening sentence which really intrigued me; so I told him “Sure buddy, go ahead. Tell me about your life in blue”.
I bought my Petzval Lens in September, and of course, I couldn’t wait to test it. To see what I could make out of the depth of field and swirling effect, I took the lens out of the packaging and brought it out to cemeteries in my area.
For the last year we've been working on the next version of Lomography. We based our work on the feedback you’ve given us over the years and we wanted to share it as early as possible with you and can’t wait to hear what you think. Just one warning first: it is still in development and things can break. All the photos, comments, likes, homes and everything else were transferred as of October 16th, 2014. So anything you do on next.lomography.com won't be reflected on www.lomography.com and vice versa. Once we are done with testing, everything you did here will be deleted again. So this is a big playground for you to explore.
