“Holy moly! Where did this come from!? Out of nowhere, Lomography just announced a new medium format film camera — and not just some medium format film camera. […] We here at The Phoblographer love film photography and are very excited about this new medium format offering by Lomo.” — The Phoblographer

“Just because a camera has bellows doesn’t mean it’s vintage.” — PetaPixel

“Those iconic camera folk at Lomography are at it again, this time delivering a camera that is capable of capturing photos in three different formats. […] As is the norm with Lomography cameras, the Belair X 6-12 uses film and is modestly built in terms of size, while the very design of the camera is sure to get admiring looks, even before you’ve shown off your prints.” — Pocket-lint

Pre ordered and cant wait. Can only afford the city slicker but 6x12 in a compact ish form and changeable lens is amazing!

This looks like it's going to be a blast. I like vintage cameras and shoot with them often, so to have an auto exposure folding medium format camera is already novel in itself. But all the other cool features look like it will make this a dream camera. I can't wait!

This new Petzval lens is a revival of a lens that was created in the 19th century. The optics has come to life again with the help of a crowdfunding website and all the backers that have supported this project. The production is done by one of Russia’s lens companies – Zenit. We lent out our prototype Petzval lens to DC Watch, one of the largest digital camera online magazines in Japan. Check out their results after the jump.
