So, Bought Any Film Lately?

14

In case you missed the memo, the month of October is supposed to be welcomed with a whole lot of film lovin’! What have you done so far?

Did you know that October 1st is International Film Buying Day? While we’re the type of people who think that every day should be a film buying day – and let’s add using while we’re at it – there are times that you simply just can’t (due to bad weather conditions, or bad wallet conditions, or you’re in the verge of dying, or worse, you’re already dead).

But nonetheless, we here at the Manila office would like to share some of our love!

“The last film I bought was a Kodak Ektachrome E100 GX and the last one I used was an expired Fuji Superia 400, they’re my current favorite slide film and color negative film respectively.”Joy (plasticpopsicle), Copywriting Editor for Magazine

“Just bought and used Kodak Colorplus. It’s my go-to film.”Sunshine (shhquiet), Copywriter for Online Marketing

“Got myself some Kodak E100 GX the other day, haven’t tried it though. As for my personal favourite, it’s the ==Lomography X-Pro 100.==”Aaron (kazarareta), Digital Agency Manager

“Lomography X-Pro 100 for me!”":Pauee (pauee1617), Online Support

“Bought and used Lomography Redscale 100, which was okay for me. It’s trippy.”Denise (denisesanjose), Copywriting Editor for Magazine

As for me, the last film I bought was a roll of Kodak Colorplus 200 and I used it the next day when I went out for a photowalk.

How about you guys? What’s the latest film that you bought or used? Share them below!

Experiment with fantastic film! We have a diverse amount of choices in our Online Shop just for you!

@geegraphy hehe thx, cost me several hundred Euros though... But with ADOX Art and efke films no longer being produced and Kodak cutting films constantly (now it's my beloved TMax p3200) you gotta do what you gotta do!

Long Exposures Around Europe with the Minitar-1 Art Lens

One of the things I like the most about the Minitar-1 Art lens is how sharp the focus can be when you shoot with a small aperture. So if you are one of those that like to shoot at night, get a tripod, add this to a late dark winter afternoon, and you will end up with a bunch of beautiful long exposures. This is what I did on my last trip to Europe.

The World According to Herr Willie: The Amazon

It was the Amazon which I had longed for my whole life. And when it was finally a set deal that I will travel to Brazil with two of my best friends for the Copa do Mundo (World Cup), we really had to start our adventure in the Amazon. I had known about this magical place deep in the rainforest. There was a lodge run by local people of indigenous background, with wooden houses that float on the water and a limited number of visitors. It was eco-tourism as how it should be. To preserve and to celebrate one of the most impressive locations I have seen so far.

Geoffrey Berliner On Photographic Processes, Old and New

Geoffrey Berliner is the Executive Director of the Penumbra Foundation and the Center for Alternative Photography in New York. As the head of an organization whose goals are 'to be a comprehensive resource for photographers at any level' and 'to continue to publicize the impact photography has had and continues to have on culture, history and the arts,' his exposure to photographic materials -from 19th century gems to modern equipment- is so extensive, one cannot even begin to fathom just how much knowledge and experience this man has acquired. His collection of over 2000 vintage Petzval lenses is unparalleled, and the object of envy of both traditional and contemporary photographers. Although such lenses are reputed to require a certain level of skill to be used, Berliner seems to manage them with so much ease, producing splendid results.

Browsing through the Lomography website, you can find a lot of redscale shots, which are all done on color negative films. In this tipster I’m going to teach you how to create the bloodiest homemade redscale film I've ever come across.
