Ayala Triangle Where 3 Avenues Meet

7

These photos are showing us what are the landmarks in the Ayala Triangle in Makati, Philippines. This is where we could see the Philippine Stock Exchange Building, the statue of one of the country's national heroes Ninoy Aquino as well as where commuters normally pass by and get a ride.

When asked about the city, people talk about Manila but the Makati Central Business District is known for stretches of avenues with tall buildings that might be considered as the Filipino urban jungle. Many professionals walk the streets of Makati and the Ayala Triangle is one of those spots.

It has been said that Ayala Avenue was formerly a runway that’s why it’s very straight in terms of what the road looks like from an aerial view. Anyhow, as the area is known as where Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas all meet, one of the landmarks in this area is the Philippine Stock Exchange. The architecture of this building is interesting because the curved roof at the lobby/entrance and then the spherical structures too. It seems to shout modern to visitors who pass by it in contrast to what’s traditional in our country considering the numerous churches of the Spanish colonial times.

This area is one of the paths where professionals walk everyday whether they’re going to work or about to go home.

Incidentally, the statue of the late Ninoy Aquino is also in this area. It’s near the intersection of Ayala and Paseo de Roxas and it’s surrounded by tall buildings like the Enterprise, the Philippine Stock Exchange and Insular Life. That’s where rallies are sometimes held, probably to signify the fight that activists stand for. Amidst the focus on business in the area, it seems to be one of the places where the modern Filipinos’ struggles unfold.
