Lower East Side, New York

by mblair23

one comment and 2 votesThe Lower East Side used to be one of New York's most culturally diverse neighborhoods. Just south of the East Village, east of SoHo, and north of Chinatown, it is one of the oldest defined neighborhoods in the city. It has been the home to thousands of newly arrived immigrants from all over the world since the 18th century. At the turn of the century, it was particularly well known for being a Jewish center, with many kosher delis (some of which still exist), synagogues, and Yiddish theaters.

Fáskrúðarbakkakirkja, Iceland

by wil6ka

12 comments and 1 voteThe National Church of Iceland or as we Icelandic tourist say "Þjóðkirkjan", is truly Lutheran. As so there is not much of the glamor and the whole „passion of the Christ“ hollywoodesque show you maybe would expect in catholic regions. No, Iceland is rough and plain and so are the churches.

by somapic

19 commentsThis Quizz was definitely too easy for most of you experts again. Hardly any wrong guess. The reason for the soft golden touch in this picture really is "Lomography Redscale Film":http://www.lomography.com/filmshop/lomography/redscale_negative_100 the picture was taken without flash with softtoned roomlight - but as we did´t explicitly ask for all that information we´re proud to present a good deal of winners once again:

Burj Dubai - The highest tower of the world

by wil6ka

5 comments and 1 voteThe tallest of ´em all. Oil is money and money is useful. The sheikhs in Dubai understood that time is playing against them and that their oil-resources are vanishing sooner then they can count to three. Therefore they started to build the most astonishing buildings and sights to attract more and more tourists. They have the only 7star Hotel with the Burj al Arab. They have the island-groups the palm and the world in the shape of their names. Michael Schumacher and David Beckham will be neighbours on their private islands.

Confess Your Lubitel Love!

by lucasjakobsson

6 commentsIt's really not that hard to fall in Love with the "Lubitel +":http://www.lomography.com/lubitel166+/ ! It has a lovely feel of nostalgia, it is the first camera with the ability to shoot both 35mm and medium format film and there is simply something special about that top down viewfinder! But what is your story? What feature do you love most of all? Are you already addicted to this camera? "Then tell us!":http://shop.lomography.com/beyondevenmoredeluxe/lomoaddicts/start.php

But the Diana will also do her work with an entirely different option - the pinhole! Remove the lens, set the camera to bulb & pinhole - chose your subject and take photography back to basics! Are you already an expert?
