Lakawon Island

by ethermoon
posted 11 months ago
3 commentsLast week I was invited by a lomo friend to go and have a taste of the Lakawon Island. I was wondering if the island was some kind of commercialized and if there are lots of people going there. I have to sleep over her house so that by next day, we can wake up earlier and pave our way to Lakawon Island. After an hour's drive from Silay City, we arrived in the coasts of Cadiz, the Cadiz Viejo. We parked our car there and rode a 600 peso ($12.00) boat ride fare just to go to the island.

Travelling by bus in Burkina Faso

by vicuna
posted 11 months ago
2 votesDuring my travel to Burkina Faso, I stayed very few time in Ouagadougou, because the main destination was Nouna, in the west part of the country. The only way to go there is with a 4x4 or the regular bus line of "Liza Transport International". As I had no 4x4, I chose Liza.... what a travel!

Crazy In Love With 120

by lucasjakobsson
posted 11 months ago
3 commentsThe world of 120 is square-shaped. On some occasions, it’s rectangular and sprocket-y. You’ll even discover some crazy fisheye perspectives. But generally, it’s a medium-format wonderland where lights are leaky and vignettes add an air of mystery. Soft-focus blurs and deep colors radiate as loud as love-struck heartbeats. Truly, there is nothing like it – that’s why at the age of digital love, the world of 120 continues to attract loyal fans.

The Horizon Perfekt: A Right of Passage for Every Lomographer

by vtayeh

11 comments and 4 votesI’ve been a Lomographer for over a year before I purchased my Horizon Perfekt. And during that time I had a chance to develop my skills with all the various Lomo cameras but I always kept my eye on the Perfekt. I visited the microsite regularly and noticed that so many of the Lomographers that I looked up to owned their very own Horizon. So on the day my Perfekt arrived, it felt like a right of passage!

Wings of a Dove - Analogue Love

by somapic
posted 11 months ago
one commentLately I followed the invitation of my old friend and musician "Peter":http://www.ghanart.org/donkor/welcome.html to take some pictures of his "CD release concert":http://www.modernghana.com/GhanaHome/photos/event_album.asp?menu_id=32&action=view&album_id=17638 in Frick, Switzerland. Besides my professional digital – Brick I also took an "LC-A+":http://shop.lomography.com/lca+/ and an Actionsampler flash with me – hoping for some nice opportunities to shoot. Finally it ended up being a great weekend – Peter’s house was invaded by 12 other people – including myself. That organised confusion and busyness going on from morning till late night made me forget to take pictures all the time. But maybe it also was the fact that I was totally occupied with four cute kids aged from 2-6 that tried to make me play with them all the time that kept me from documenting everything with my lomos.

1 vote4 hours on the bus from Datong, China - and you'll join the region of Buddhist temples and spectacular mountains. Pack well with warm clothes and carefully choose your hostel (there are plenty of and the place is cold in winter - below 0 Celsius degree is normal on 2-3 km high altitude:)
