My Lomo Story by Babo

by shhquiet
posted 11 months ago
4 comments“It all started in a beautiful winter morning with the sun shining and snow...”, wait! That’s the way the horror novel I’m planning to write someday is going to begin! Actually my lomo story began in a casual Summer afternoon with an overcast sky! I went to a friend’s store for lunch (Quintal Bioshop) and I found there a Holga exhibition made by a friend of hers. The pictures caught my eyes and I was completely awestruck by them. She explained to me what kind of camera was used to make those pictures and she told me of the existence of the lomographic embassy. Still thinking on those marvelous pictures I went out of the store and went to a cash machine and I saw the Lomoférias sign (Lomoférias 2008), and decided to give it a try, so I went to the embassy and bought my first lomo… a fisheye 2!

...and there was Mono

by breakphreak

2 comments and 2 votesFor me, it all started from Monolake - one of the most hypnotizing deep techno projects in the world. Then, I've realized that the name followed Mono lake, located in Mono county near the Mono city, California. Digged for more info, it turned that the lake has a long psychodelic history: for example, some photos for Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" album were shot there.

293 comments and 524 submissionsWhile kids, the month of December has mainly been about two things: first of all, Christmas (presents) and then the advent calendar! When a kid (the time during which your parents still chose what you are allowed to eat (healthy stuff) while you only want candy) the advent calendar often meant a whole month of being allowed to eat a bit of candy each day!

Pulau Pinang, Batu Feringghi

1 votePulau Pinang is famous for it's delicious food and also it's beach. The beach is what Batu Feringgi famous for. The beach itself is quite good, thought not up there with Malaysia's best and the water is not of the tropically clear variety you might expect. The beach is kept clean.

by weechonghooi
posted 11 months ago
one commentIt is not easy to find a good black and white film in my country, especially the 120 ones. However, I am lucky enough to joined a photography exhibition in Kuala Lumpur last month and stumbled upon various shots made with this film and it was love at first sight, so I bought some rolls of Ilfords back home.

2 votesIn these tough economic times it can be hard to part with your cash, even in support of your photography addiction. If you're longing for an LC-A but just can't scrape together the money, try an Olympus XA2, often called the 'Poor Man's LC-A"
