Wuppertaler Schwebebahn

by scorpie
posted 12 months ago
3 commentsPublic transport in Wuppertal is a unique experience, and also quite an adventure, especially if you're scared of heights. To get in and out of the swaying carriages of the Schwebebahn („floating train“) takes a bit of strong nerves but you'll be rewarded with a fun ride and (more or less) exclusive views into people's backyards – keep your camera ready!

Agfa's Little Black Box

by graefin
posted 12 months ago
one comment and 3 votesThe Agfa Synchro Box or in short Agfa Box was thrown onto the German camera market back in 1949 and in production until the late 1950s. So you see, this camera is a very old one! It takes 120 medium format film and the images have a size of 6x9cm, either landscape or upright - depends on how you hold the camera. But the general handling of the Box allow rather upright than landscape pictures.

Home-Fig-Harvest in Algeria

by wil6ka
posted 12 months ago
one comment and 1 voteMy trip to Algeria this summer, with its special exotic of the North-African coast, had a few moments to remember. We got attached to a family, with who we spent most of our time. They had a fantastic house at a large avenue. But behind a wall towards the street shined a quite big yard with a pretty house and even with a sub-yard, where they put all the trash. Like a massive garage. This espacio had even more quality, because a nice fig-tree was growing there and his huge branches were heading over to the "show-off" yard. Figs can be harvested two times a year, if I remember right, and for our stay in August we got lucky to be right on time!

Polaroid High Definition (35mm, 200 iso) User-Review

by dogma

4 comments and 1 voteThe last Mohican: I found this film really unexpectedly. Everything started that day when I discovered Lomography. I was browsing the lomography site and then in the shop I saw Smena Symbol. I somehow knew my parents used to have something like this camera, so I went down to our basement where all old stuff goes, and dug for it. After couple hours of hard searching I found it. Working and smelling fantastic! When I moved the the film advance lever I noticed the rewind crank moved too, meaning there is a film inside!

Kuala Kubu Bharu Waterfall

by weechonghooi

2 comments and 1 voteThis waterfall is cool, the water flushing is really strong and fun. The idea of going to this waterfall is to get the total jungle adventures kind of feeling. Being out of the big city, traveling and trekking up hill. Listening to the beautiful sounds of nature. When we were trekking up looking for the waterfall, the water splashing sounds were already been heard and brought all the excitement even before we actually saw the waterfall. Kuala Kubu Bharu itself, is quite a small country sites, where there are still people and community there maintaining the whole place.

Argus C3 "The Brick"

by dirklancer
posted 12 months ago
8 comments and 4 votesThe Argus C3, a range finder camera affectionately known by its many lovers as "the Brick", is an artifact right out of the early mid-19th century machine age. The front of the camera is covered in gears, and it could easily pass for a highly specialized scientific measuring device at first glance. It is constructed of heavy Bakelite and metal, so you can guess that it's about as heavy as a brick...hence the nickname.

Camps Bay side, Cape town

by neja

3 comments and 4 votesIf you are ever in Cape town, and it happens to be a foggy day, and you have no car, here is what you can do. Start in City or Bo-Kaap, go up Kloof Nek Road. It 's always up, about an hour or so, but it's quite picturesque road full of beautiful residential houses, parks and real Chocolate Factory (worth stopping at it's shop for real local made dark chocolate).
