Capitol Hill

2 votesThis place is lomographic magic. Mother nature and (father?) city all in one happy little plaza. Last April, I got the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. This was the city in which I bought my very first lomographic camera! I picked up the lomo fisheye no. 1 at an Urban Outfitters store and started shooting right away.

The Docks (Galway)

1 voteThe Spanish Parade (more commonly and mistakenly referred to as simply "the Arch") is a haven for tourists, wastrels and those looking for a convenient and picturesque place to get drunk in the warm(ish) Galway Summer months. Go through the Spanish Arch (built in 1584 to keep out the mad Spanish Armada) and walk down the Long Walk past quaintly multicoloured houses facing the swan hangout of the Claddagh Basin across the bay.

2 commentsMissKhali, aka Caroline Merklen (or Karotte for friends) is actually much more than a friend to me! As my girlfriend, but also as my initiator to the mysteries of Xpro and plastic lenses, she was the one I wanted to ask a few question and let you know a bit more about! Let me introduce you my Lomo guru, "MissKhali":http://www.lomohomes.com/MissKhali!

The Courthouse Extension by Gunnar Asplund.

by minicooper

one comment and 1 voteErik Gunnar Asplund (1885 –1940) is my favorite Swedish architect. I've seen some of his works, but I have to admit that when I stepped inside the Extension of the Göteborg Courthouse (1917-37), my heart almost stopped! It is still working as courthouse, and if you ask for taking pictures there is no problem.

A Lomo Lubitel 166+ Dream Team

by ouroborosx

2 commentsThe "Lomo Lubitel 166+":http://www.lomography.com/lubitel+/ is a remarkably versatile camera. With the right film, some patience, and a cable release, you can pretty much shoot in any conditions, and not even be limited to one possible option to get the right exposure. Because of the multitude of possible settings, you can shoot long exposures at f-stop 16 or even 22 for great depth of field, or even shorten your exposure a bit at a smaller f-stop and take portraits in any light. The Lubitel+ doesn't mind, because it puts complete control in your hands in every way.

Sheffield City Hall

one commentOn a recent trip to Sheffield I went to see the mighty boosh live instead of going to the dingy but rather good clubs. The train is one of the most effective ways to get into Sheffield, many of the best pubs and clubs are within 10 minutes walking distance and the city hall is within 15. Sheffield's city hall has very romanesque architecture and looks out on a large square with 2 symmetrical fountains that go blue at night, mixing the old and the modern.

LC-A : Must... Stop... Shooting!

by butter
posted about 1 year ago
3 votesWhoops... I can't! Holy crap I love this camera. I know you hear it all the time. Everyone loves the LC-A. I didn't buy into what I thought was just hype at first, either. I heard 'LC-A this' and 'LC-A that' and never really understood why I shouldn't just photoshop a digital picture. Then I bought one. It was like a revolution.

Ithaca

1 voteYou have surely heard the name of Ithaca (Ιθάκη or Ithaki in Greek) in connection to Odysseus (or Ulysses), hero of Homer’s epic poems Iliad and Odyssey. The truth is it’s still unclear where Odysseus actually existed or whether he was from Ithaca (the most likely it’s that Homer was from the island or at least lived there).
