Diana Takes Diana+ to Egypt... an Interview and Gallery

by ouroborosx
posted about 1 year ago
4 comments and 1 voteRecently I was contacted by Diana Mulvihill, a photography student at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Diana was on her way to Egypt to do some work for a non-profit organization that helps children (and also wishes to remain anonymous for the purpose of this interview). Diana is trained as a documentary photographer and has worked for over a decade as a photojournalist. She had heard about her camera namesake, but had never shot with one. We thought it would be neat to see how the "Diana+":http://www.lomography.com/diana would hold up on a real photojournalism assignment, and hoped to capture some of the beauty and magic of this incredible destination. See Diana's Diana+ gallery below, and read an interview with this remarkable woman.

THE FUTURE IS DIGITAL? We don't think... The Great Analogue Photo Rumble - Participate Now

by pan_dre

22 comments and 1 voteAn earthquake-like shock shook our headquarters this week. While evaluating the grand analogue survey feedback we had to swallow the fact that the majority of Lomographers believe that - the future is digital. The shock! The Horror! We were ready to throw everything out of the window; cancel Photokina, abandon camera production and start producing microchips for digital air-conditioning systems. But alas! Just seconds before our fingers touched the “Off” switch we discovered the very same sample of people actually believe that the most essential things in life remain analogue! Life, love, fun, sex, beauty, creativity were voted by a huge percentage to be definitively analogue.“

Acadia (Bar Harbor)

one commentThis might seem to be very far out of the way to go, which it is. Acadia National Park is a sight to be seen, you can either hike up on the paths or take the drive up. It's one of those few places in Maine that is actually worth going to.

Dago Resort

1 voteWhen I first came up here I was so surprised because this place is like a desert, only that there are beautiful hills around it. So the reason I went here was because my friend asked me to take pictures of him and his dearly old Vespa. Then we did some LomoSession using my Horizon Perfekt and SNAP! I just loved the view - it suits the panorama dream image that can be obtained using a Horizon Perfekt. I think this place is so perfect to be used as a movie location.

Amsterdam NEMO (Science Center)

by agrimony
posted about 1 year agoNEMO is the biggest science center all over The Netherlands. You can see it when you arrive at the Central station (the central station) because of its extraordinary architecture – it looks like a big green ship - designed by Renzo Piano. It was built in 1997 and is situated on the fundamentals of the IJtunnel.

1 voteOne of the most interesting shopping possibilities in Amsterdam is the several street-markets which can be found all over the city. The most famous one is maybe the Waterlooplein –market. There you can buy second-hand clothing but also new clothes, dvds, cds, rummage, and so on. It has its own metro-station and it is open from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

1 voteThis interesting and beautiful place is located in the Aukštaitija regional park in the eastern Lithuania. Aukštaitija regional park is well known because of lovely forests and thousands lakes and rivers. The Alnis Lake is deep in the forest surrounded only by trees and nothing more. There is only breathtaking beauty of nature. You can climb on the top of the hill and to see clear like a glass water of this lake. This place is like paradise. There are few camping places where you can stay after pay some euros (I don’t remember the cost).

1 voteIf you ask Lithuanian people, "Do you know Rokiskis?" 9 of 10 will tell you that it has the mental institution-prison in Lithuania. To tell you the truth it was the only thing that I know about Rokiskis too. The trip to this city was unplanned and very interesting and surprising.
